How to use AI to Transform Your Interview Game

How to use AI to Transform Your Interview Game

Don't have a career coach to help you ace your interview? No problem.

I recently used Claude to prepare for an AI Change Management Lead #interview. It didn't work out because of budget constraints but I was told I made an impact in a short amount of time and they were impressed.

How I prepared using AI - step-by-step

I captured it into a step-by-step process so you can become the candidate they can't afford to pass up.

Quick access: Go to this link to access the artifact it created.

Step 1: Feed the AI Beast

I created a new Claude Project (it's the equivalent to a custom ChatGPT - a space where you can brainstorm and deliver a defined piece of work) and uploaded everything related to my interview goal:

??My current and past CVs

??The detailed job description

??LinkedIn PDF of the recruiter/interviewer

??LinkedIn recommendations showcasing my personal brand

??Research on the hiring manager (a Chief AI Officer) and company

Prompt example: Analyse the job description, my CVs and profile, understand who is the recruiter interviewing me. His goal is to get the best candidate for his client. Your job is to train me for a 30 min pre-screening call and help me move to the next stage which is an interview with the hiring manager. Share some thoughts about the interviewer that help me better understand him, then ask me questions, critically judge my answers using STAR model and help me improve them.
Prompt example: I want to mirror the actual conversation. Talk to me as though you are <name of interviewer> and ask me a question, then wait for my answer and then give me advice.

Step 2: Extract the Hidden Questions

Rather than settling for generic preparation, I challenged Claude to generate strategic questions that showcased my advanced understanding of both AI & Automation transformation and organisational psychology.

Prompt example: "As a recruiter hiring for an AI Change Management Lead at a <company type and industry>, what are the 5 most challenging and revealing questions you would ask to test both change management expertise and AI knowledge?"

These were the questions that Claude came up with:

??How would you balance maintaining trust while driving AI adoption

??What's the difference between managing change for automation versus AI

??How would you help our teams adapt to using AI while maintaining creativity

??Tell me about a time when a change initiative didn't go as planned. What did you learn

Prompt example: "Based on my CV and the job description I've shared, what key skills and experiences should I emphasize for this <role>?"

Step 3: Build STAR Stories That Stick

For each question I:

??Drafted answers using the STAR framework

??Had Claude evaluate whether my stories were memorable and impactful

??Refined answers to include specific metrics ($121M portfolio, satisfaction scores from 2.7 to 4.1)

Prompt example: "Here's my answer to the question about managing resistance to AI adoption. Does it follow the STAR method effectively? Are my metrics compelling? What would make this story more memorable?"

Step 4: Invite the Sceptic to Dinner

The game-changer? Having Claude play devil's advocate.

Prompt example: Act as a sceptic interviewer, analyse my performance so far and challenge me on improving to win you over.

?? Your approach sounds theoretical. What evidence shows it works?

?? Creative teams often resist AI. How would you overcome entrenched opposition?

?? What if leadership disagrees with your 90-day approach?

This preparation for pushback will help you show deeper though process and your adaptability during the interview.

Step 5: Distil Your Unique Selling Point

Claude helped me crystallise my Unique Selling Point - what makes me unique and different than other candidates:

"I don't just deliver change - I make it impactful, inspiring, and impossible to ignore. I bridge deep knowledge in change communication with tech acumen, translating AI jargon into stories that generate excitement."

Move from the AI Hype to Practical Do's

?? While there's endless discussion on LinkedIn about AI's potential, I'm focused on discovering #practical applications anyone can use today.

?? This #interviewprep method is just one step in my broader journey of testing AI tools and sharing real-world results. I want to separate genuine #value from #hype for my network.

Do you have an interview coming up? Please test my framework and prompts and let me know how you got on..
