How to upgrade to latest Facebook SDK to v9.0

If you are an Admin on any of the Facebook developer apps, chances are that you have received this email from Facebook today to upgrade to the latest version.

Today, Facebook released Facebook SDK version 9.0 and additional updates to Facebook Platform SDKs. These updates include additional features, as well as required actions which may impact your application(s) integration with the Facebook platform. More about the announcement here:

If you have created the developer app a long time ago and if you are someone who has integrated this developer app with 3rd party platforms such as Mobile Measurement Partners (Adjust, AppsFlyer, Branch, or any other platforms for that matter) than you must be wondering how to upgrade this?

Well, the process to upgrade this version is quite simple, just follow the steps below:

• Login into Facebook and navigate to https://developers.facebook.com/apps/
• Select the App you want to upgrade (you might have access to multiple apps)
• Click Settings > Advanced
• Select the latest version under the Upgrade API Version section for both “Upgrade All Calls” and “Upgrade Calls for App Roles”
• Save
