How to Unlock Your Motivation: 8 Tips for Getting Motivated
Everyone struggles with motivation from time to time – it’s only human to find ourselves lacking the drive we need every once in a while. In today’s hectic world, with social media, fast-paced modern life and a host of other distractions and diversions, many people find motivation to be the biggest struggle in achieving their goals in life – but luckily, these 8 tips for getting motivated will help to get you back on track!
Write Down What You Want to Achieve, and How to Get There
When we can see our path laid out clearly in front of us, it is infinitely easier to walk it! Start by writing down your goals, and the steps you’ll need to take to get there. This ties in well to the Four Worlds taught in Universal Kabbalah, which lay out our path to making our goals a reality – by writing down how we’re going to achieve what we want, we move from the Thought stage to the Plan stage, and make a road map for ourselves to follow.
Break Your Goal Down
This follows on well from the first tip – breaking your goal into a series of smaller goals along the way helps us to stay motivated, makes the goal more manageable and rewards us with a sense of accomplishment as we go.
Visualise Your Goal Every Day
Visualising our goals is a vital part of manifesting them into reality – and when we visualise what we want to achieve every day, we focus our minds and our efforts on it. From a purely motivational standpoint, visualising your desired goal every day helps to keep you on-task and stay focused, and reminds you of what you stand to gain by succeeding.
From the standpoint of manifestation, it’s crucial to remember our goals and keep them in the forefront of our thoughts!
Don’t be Afraid to Reward Yourself
The first two tips recommended breaking goals down into smaller goals and writing down a plan to get there – so attach a reward to each of these goals. A proportionate reward for each step of the plan will help to keep motivation high, and over time, you’ll even begin to associate working on your goals with the good feelings and positive energy of the rewards, making sure that motivation comes naturally to you!
Write Your Reasons Down and Keep Them Somewhere Visible
Think about why you want to achieve your aims. What are your reasons to be motivated? Is it for your family? Your spiritual development? Long-term happiness?
Write your reasons down and make sure to keep them somewhere where you can see them. When you’re feeling demotivated, look at your reasons for working, and remember why you want it in the first place – I guarantee you’ll find motivation comes flowing back.
Take a Class or Join a Group Dedicated to Your Goal
It’s much easier to stay committed to a goal as part of a group. When our friends and colleagues are working towards something, we all support one another and help to keep motivation high. As well as group support, a class or group also provides a sort of social pressure, encouraging us not to give up or fall behind, so the effect on our motivation is twofold!
The Modern Mystery School runs a number of classes and workshops dedicated to helping students improve motivation, including weekly meditation sessions which can build mindfulness and focus, and provide a supportive social group!
Empower Thyself
Motivation is a question of energy and willpower, and while the other tips in this post have been about working with the energy and willpower inherent to us, what if we were able to have more?
What if we could increase our energy and willpower, and unlock talents and levels of focus previously closed to us?
With Empower Thyself, we can! The Modern Mystery School teaches this powerful modality, handed down for thousands of years in an unbroken chain of masters and students, to strengthen and empower all who take the course, making it easier for them to unlock their potential, increasing motivation and energy, bolstering their will and helping them to live the lives they’ve always wanted!
Think Positively
Thinking positively isn’t just a way to keep cheery in the face of adversity – it’s important in keeping our morale up when it comes to long-term goals and ambitions. After all, if we allow negativity into our life in our thoughts, over time, we’ll become more comfortable doing so, and the cumulative effect on our motivation and morale could be catastrophic.
Believing that we can do it is the key to doing anything, so think positively! Don’t let negative thinking slowly make you believe you can’t accomplish your goals, or that it isn’t worth it – it is, and you can. You deserve it, so go get it!
