How to Unlock Top CEOs' 1 Hidden Secret?

Leading with Passion & Authenticity for Success?& Burnout Management

?What can we learn from the best CEOs so that as female leaders, we can rise?

?What can we learn from the best CEOs so that as male leaders, we can help our female professionals to rise?

?What can we all learn from the best CEOs s that together we can create more inclusive and empowering workplaces to create an impact in the world?

Our Burnout to Brilliance Newsletter is focused on exploring these three questions while addressing one of the biggest challenges faced by leaders - burnout. In our latest edition, we began exploring the six mindsets identified by McKinsey & Company Consultants in their book CEO Excellence: Personal Effectiveness. We started by delving into its first dimension, time and energy management, with a focus on how female leaders over forty can rise through effective time and energy management. Our previous edition included a special gift: a whitepaper with practical tips to lead with joy and energy.

In this edition, we will explore the second dimension of the Personal Effectiveness #mindset : How to become a Leadership Model. To become a role model for inspiring and engaging others as a leader, you must first embody your authentic leadership every day. This means, as described in the CEO Excellence Book, truly living your 'To Be' List. It's a journey from doing to becoming. For example, instead of doing your tasks in a standardized method, you purposefully think about how you want to show up that day. Let's say you want to live as generous and kind that day - then you apply that to all your tasks. How you show up is a reflection of your values - your authentic self. The outcomes of your tasks will have a unique touch or secret sauce based on how you choose to show up, and as you continue to embody these qualities, your being will gradually transform into your becoming

The key elements to becoming a Leadership Model, as explored in detail in the #ceoexcellencebook , are:

  • Show consistency of character, in other words, staying true to your own values.
  • Adapt to what the company/your business needs; adapting your leadership style to what is needed while maintaining your authenticity.
  • Seek to continuously grow.
  • Always give hope.

The question is how you can achieve these four points so that you can become the authentic leader you want to be:

  1. ??Find out your passion, in other words, what makes you really excited in the morning or what makes you so crazy happy when you know you are one step closer? Your North Star?
  2. ??What are your empowering beliefs that keep you on the track with full of energy and encouragement?
  3. ??Develop a growth mindset to weather any storm and navigate towards your North Star.
  4. ??Build your mental fitness muscles every day to boost the growth of your mindset, no matter what happens, so that your growth mindset does not fall apart.
  5. ??Take care of your physical health by getting enough rest, exercise, and proper nutrition.

These 5?? tips are not only crucial to becoming a successful role model leader but also to preventing burnout.??

Leadership can be challenging for anyone, but for female leaders, there are several additional sources of stress and pressure, such as the pressure to be understood and not misunderstood, the tendency to have higher inner critics (e.g. self-doubt, imposter syndrome, perfectionism), societal norms or expectations, and feel pressure to present a certain image to be perceived as a good leader. All these can lead to suppression of authenticity and disconnection from their true selves.

The5??tips outlined earlier can help female leaders prevent burnout by prioritizing their own well-being and expressing their true selves. Finding out your passion, empowering beliefs, building and improving your growth mindset, building mental fitness muscles, and taking care of your body are all ways to prevent burnout and become an authentic leader. By prioritizing self-care and being

Unlocking the top #ceos ' hidden secret of leading with passion and authenticity can be a game-changer for female leaders. By prioritizing authenticity and being true to oneself, female leaders can become role models who inspire and engage others, while also preventing burnout. This means embracing one's unique leadership style and not succumbing to societal expectations and biases.

To create a work environment that is not only productive, but also fosters joy, engagement, and a sense of purpose, female leaders should prioritize self-care, well-being, and the pursuit of personal passions and self-actualization.

By taking care of themselves and finding fulfilment in their work, female leaders can lead by example and inspire their colleagues to do the same. This in turn will not only prevent burnout, but also contribute to the bigger picture of serving the organization's mission and making a positive impact in the world.

By finding their passion, empowering beliefs, and developing a growth mindset, female leaders can unlock their potential and become the successful leaders they were meant to be.

Myth 1: Female leaders need to conform to traditional leadership styles to be successful.

Fact 1: Authenticity and unique leadership styles can be just as effective and are crucial for preventing burnout.

Myth 2: Showing your values and being authentic as a leader is a weakness.

Fact: Authenticity is a strength that can lead to success and prevent burnout. When leaders are true to themselves and their values, they build trust and inspire others. Authenticity also allows leaders to prioritize their own well-being and prevent burnout by avoiding the stress and pressure of trying to be someone they're not.

Full of really valuable advice. Burnout is becoming more and more common and I fear it will only get worse. But I'm determined not to burn out again and I think even making that decision is a super important step to breaking the pattern. Thank you for sharing, Ayse B. Women do face unique challenges compared to men. All the women in my family, my grandmother, my mother and now my daughter (see that I missed myself out!) have strived and are striving to excel in a man's world, and have done and are doing exceptionally well because of their knowledge, passion and determination to succeed.

Ayse B. Cinar -Award Winner Leadership and Wellbeing Coach These are great points ?? Being true to ourselves and our values is a key one for me. After all if we don't live by these values we can often become unhappy in our work and without realising it we can start to attract the wrong clients that are not aligned to our own values. This can make us feel stressed and ultimately contribute to burn out.
