How to understand Agile and make it works for you

How to understand Agile and make it works for you

Agile DNA is all about business co-ownership. It can (and often definitely will) work ugly for organizations, groups and individuals following hired-worker principles. If you want to benefit 100% out of making you company Agile, start with culture, goals, org structure, roles and responsibilities complete re-design to make everything as close to business co-owners partnership model as possible. Period.

  •  You should be very strong to play Agile leader role. You should be very self-confident. You should be safe. You should be wise. You should better be rich than poor. You should be healthy. You should be better in general than your partners. In this case you have the good chance to be a great Agile leader. You should be very strong to lead through servant leadership not through command-and-control.
  • Your team or organization, your people, they should be mature enough. Not to get crazy after you share the business realities with them. It's not so easy to know so much. The less you know, the better you sleep. Your people should be ready to know more.
  • Both you and your team should be very inspired, passionate and energized to reach the goals which bring profit for investors and owners, make all the "doers" (your team members) happy and wealthy and be considered as very positive from social responsibility perspective by the all society your have to live and work within.

That said, all you as a leader need to succeed with Agile is to establish the culture of respectful business co-ownership, true partnership culture. All the rest are just the details of how to get there.

In case you are the "doer", be brave enough to evaluate your current maturity and capability to take higher risks as a price for achieving higher rewards and living better life. If you are ready, welcome to true Agile. If you are not, but want to be, invest into growth of your "self" to reach higher maturity.

Otherwise, forget about it. It's neither bad, nor good. It's just not yours.
