How UBQT is enabling Corporates to engage with their diaspora.

When we first conceptualised UBQT, our goal was to create a simple way to know "who is where when" to facilitate real-life connections, targeting at first mature global citizens who seek efficient tools to manage their extensive networks. These individuals often avoid the noise of current social media platforms, which provide limited options for those over 35. Unlike platforms that prioritise followers and influencers, UBQT focuses on fostering meaningful connections, such as friends from school, former colleagues, and trusted business partners. Our community feature caters to universities, MBA alumni, and corporate diasporas, supporting and nurturing genuine relationships.

As Dr. Martin Russell, an esteemed researcher in diaspora and Founder of Global Diaspora Insights, explains "Corporate Diaspora is a concept that is a timely innovation on corporate alumni as it embraces the internal and external power that diasporas can bring for corporates. For example, corporate diaspora aligns with the importance of corporate alumni by encouraging the organisation to see the people that have come through its doors and left as an ongoing part of their community. Nurturing relationships with their corporate diaspora can bring continued mutual benefit for all involved through the connecting of ideas, networks, and more. This can bring well-established and critical advantages for organisations in terms of business opportunities/referrals, market intelligence, return of talent, and other critical indices of competitiveness and growth. Internally, corporate diaspora speaks to the multidimensional reality that organisations are now fundamentally dependent on diaspora talent and leadership to thrive in a global, connected marketplace. This talent is now embedded from the frontline through to the C- Suite and Boardroom. This is the power of the case statement for building solutions to engage corporate diasporas. This positions corporate diasporas as a critical enabler of effective organisational culture and community building that can bring instrumental value in areas such as access to new markets, cultural nuance, talent retention, and more. This external and internal dynamism is just a snapshot of how diaspora engagement will be a difference maker for corporates by unleashing the power of difference for the wellbeing of the organisation through the relationships it can build inside and outside the walls of the organisation."

UBQT is a social app designed to help people catch-up with their network in real life, no matter where they are in the world. Get notified about who is in town, visiting soon, or traveling in the same city as you. Schedule catchups in-app, sync calendars, and meet in person. We have AI-enabled features in development that will soon make UBQT the smart app that helps nurture your connections with highly significant recommendations. UBQT will be your AI personal assistant for your IRL calendar and the ultimate companion to maximise your network's potential.

We are thrilled to help corporations with their diaspora, community of employees, and alumni to nurture relationships by not missing the opportunity to catchup in real life, exchanging expertise, experience, connections, and more.

Our first corporate community on UBQT is with Swiss Life Network. As Michael Hansen , CEO of Swiss Life network mentioned: “A network is about connecting, a community is about caring.”

UBQT doesn’t aim to replace other platforms but complementing them. With UBQT, employees can connect with their friends, (ex)classmates, (ex)colleagues, MBA alumni communities, Women's Associations, Tech clubs, Member’s clubs, (ex)employers—all in one place.

We prioritise privacy in the digital space by allowing users to set a location radius between 10km and 200km, focusing on real-life catchups without revealing exact locations. Instead of using a map, users can publish a "catch me" status or trip and select who gets notified—family, friends, close connections, or business contacts. People can belong to multiple categories, but only the user knows how they are tagged. This feature enables users to share their availability for activities, like attending a conference or watching a game at the pub, with their targeted audience. The more time we share, the stronger our relationships grow.

"In an increasingly interconnected world, the concept of a 'corporate diaspora' signifies more than just geographical dispersion; it embodies the enduring ties and shared values that bind a global workforce, demanding innovative approaches to manage mobility and maintain connections." as Pasquale Gorrasi from Generali Employee Benefits- GEB mentions.

UBQT is designed to seamlessly integrate personal and professional connections in one place, providing dedicated community spaces for corporate networks. This feature is ideal for professionals who rely on strong alumni networks. UBQT addresses social media fatigue by offering a refreshing alternative that prioritises real-life connections, particularly in a world where remote work and virtual interactions are common. It helps users optimise their schedule to reconnect with colleagues and friends in person. By focusing on meaningful interactions, UBQT aims to increase oxytocin rather than dopamine, fostering genuine connections without excessive screen time—something the world needs today more than ever.

We look forward to supporting corporates in engaging with their diaspora and making an impact on their social wellbeing.
