Tick, Tock. Tick,Tock. Tick, Tock
The clock fingers continue its movement as eons of time passes, along with it, dreams, visions, desires and intent of all forms and shapes.
It is a new month (5 days gone already) and the end of the year: 2016, beckons really fast. The year doesn’t have to end in the same circumstances that you’re currently in though. You know you can still change your life for the better, right?
Well! If you have been having doubts about yourself this year and how you failed to achieve your goals and resolutions, take a breather, and remember that the game is still on. Understand that in this eleventh hour, you can still conjure up a stunner to turn your life around.
So, how do you change your life for the better this new month? How do you achieve better results? Here are some insights to keep in mind all through this month to help you change/better your situation.
1. Ask for what you want
A lot of people go through life afraid to ask for what they want or what they are worth because of the ‘culture of acceptance and settlement’ that the status quo has transmitted to them. And this is one of the reasons why a lot of people lack results. They haven’t learnt to ask for what they really want. They accept whatever reality is given to them, without being aware that they have the power in their hands to change and create their own realities.
This month, don’t be afraid to ask for what you ‘’deserve’’, in the workplace, in the society and in your personal life. Never expect less than the highest thing you can go after. Don’t let people tell you ‘’you shouldn’t have high expectations’’.
Remember, whether you ask or not, the answer is already no, so why not try and get a yes.
Ask and you shall receive.
2. Take actions: Do something
Jim Rohn, one of America’s pioneer motivational speakers once defined success as ‘’the progressive realization of a worthy ideal’’. This is so true as the single most important step to take to achieve a goal is taking action.
You have talked too much about that business idea, about learning a new language, about enrolling for a course on Public Speaking. It is now time for you to put your money where your mouth is. Take Actions! Take Actions!! and Take Some More Actions!!!
It is in taking action that you set the stage for the realization of your goals and dreams. Knowing the path and toeing the path are two different things. All through this month consciously determine to take some steps towards achieving that goal of yours.
Take some actions now (Write down your goals for the month on a paper, and then put specific timeframes on those goals. Decide to write one page a day for that book.Commit to learning 2 new words daily to improve your vocabulary. Send 2 thank you note to friends and family daily to improve your relationships. Start doing 20 Push-ups daily-to achieve your goal of being more fit.
Remember you don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great. Do something, anything.
3. Desist from negative habits
So it is November, and you’re wondering where January and its siblings went to, you feel like the months just whittled by you. And you’re worried because you don’t have much to show for those months.
Have you ever bothered to ask yourself if your methods have been right? And if maybe you have been sabotaging your best efforts consciously and unconsciously.
Audit your habits and activities this month, and weed out all those unproductive tasks, habits and hobbies that do nothing but take you further away from living the life of your dreams. Cut off all negative influencers and things that don’t take you closer to achieving your goals and dreams.
You want to write a book, then reduce the time you spend watching TV, also reduce the amount of hours you spend on your phone (and social media) daily. You want to be better in your field? Then read 30minutes daily about best practices in your field. You want to be healthier? Then reduce the volume of processed foods that you take, gravitate towards natural foods.
You want to earn some extra income? Then start a little business, in your street or at your workplace. Want to be happier? Then take time to really count your blessings and be appreciative for life. Want to do anything that will take you closer to your dreams? Just go out and do it, don’t give in to fear.
Don’t procrastinate. Don’t be pessimistic. Never give in and never give up and you might just see the sun shining behind the cloud that currently envelopes you.
Bringing It All Together
Success is subjective. And there is no hard and fast rule to achieving success in any facet of life. However, by reflecting deeply and being truthful with yourself, you will definitely find the techniques and methodology that will work for you. Don’t however forget to: ask for what you want, take actions and desist from negative habits this month, and you will notice a remarkable change in your achievements this month.
Remember you don’t need a new year to change your life, all you need is a new week and a new month. And November is here to give you the chance to create a new reality. Only one question I have for you:
What are you going to do about it?
What other methods do you use as an individual to get more done-in record time- and be more productive both in your personal and professional life?.
