Hi, I’m Malte! You’ve got an idea for a business that you think can make a real impact?! Awesome!!
"Let's find out how we can turn your idea into a social enterprise."
Let's find out how you can actually turn that idea into a social enterprise. I'm gonna break it down into three easy steps. Read below ??
Step 1: Define the Problem You Want to Solve
Every great social enterprise starts with a clear problem. Ask yourself:
Understanding the problem in-depth will help you craft a mission-driven business model that makes a difference.
"No Purpose Without Profit."
Step 2: Create a Business Model That Balances Purpose & Profit
Remember: No Purpose Without Profit. A successful social enterprise isn’t just about impact—it’s about sustainability - business sustainability. Only if your company is operating financially safe, you can have an impact. Your business model should answer this very first question: "What problem am I solving and who is willing to pay me for it." Once you have that, you can dig down further with these 3 questions:
A great example is TOMS Shoes, whose “One for One” model linked every sale to a direct social impact. The key is ensuring that your financial success fuels your mission, rather than competing with it.
"If you do not hate the first version of your product, you're launching too late."
Step 3: Test, Learn, and Iterate
You don’t need to have everything perfect from day one. Start small, test your idea, and learn from real-world feedback:
I once learned the phrase, "If you do not hate the first version of your product, you're launching too late." - It does hold much value. Remember: Execution over Perfection.
Many successful social enterprises started as tiny experiments before scaling up. Your journey will evolve, and that’s okay!
