When it comes to content creation, one of the biggest struggels many seem to come across is to find the time create this content. We are all very busy focusing on sales and ROI, and we sometimes forget that content is a very important part of our Marketing Strategy. Like everything else in life, a little bit of planning goes a long way in helping us to be more efficient when it comes to our content strategy. Here are some things you can do in order to be more effective and efficient at the same time:
- Make sure that you know what your goal is. Question to ask: What am I trying to achieve by publishing this content?
- Make sure that you are clear on who your customer persona is. Question to ask: Who is my target market? (Tip: Everyone is not the right answer here. Your content needs to be specific to your target audience)
- Run a content audit. Question to ask: Is the content on my website and social media relevant to my target audience and to my goal?
- Choose a content management system (CMS), which is a way (normally in the form of a software) in which you can create, modify and manage the content that you have. Sometimes companies choose to outsource their CMS and have someone else take care of managing their content. Question to ask: Do I have enough rescourses (human or otherwise) to manage my own content by myself?
- Thinking outside the box always helps teams and companies come up with better ideas on what to do, what to write about and how to be more creative. Question to ask: If I were the client, what would I expect to read about on my school's website or social media channels?
- Make sure that your content is specific to the different target groups you are trying to reach. Question to ask: Do I have a presence on all the channels where I can possibly find my target audience?
