How trying to 'break into' tech almost 10 years ago inspired my latest event activation

If you would have told 2014 Lisbeth that in 10 years I'd accomplish things I couldn't even conceptualize at the time I would have cried. My tech journey began in academia as I raced to get two degrees but hit a wall when trying to 'break into' the tech industry here in Chicago as I was competing with my peers who had way more experience and influence than me. Life is coming full circle this week getting to put on an activation during a major cannabis expo happening during #ChicagoTechWeek (not affiliated just a fan) my two worlds colliding.

In partnership with CannaTech Ventures and Black CannaBusiness I am proud to help produce Recharge your Future an all-new experience on the expo floor. Catering to those building their career or a business this two-track experience combines a Resume Bar for feedback to land your dream role, Mentor 1:1 chats for direct feedback and advice on your business and CannaTech Ventures Founder Resource Desk our all new founder-focused newsletter brought to life to help cannabis founders in all stages of their venture succeed with actionable resources.

In the last 10 years I have always gone back in forth from building up my career and launching businesses that are mine. I believe there is a way we can support both paths because some can excel professionally while others want to build a business. Inspired by journey to land my first technology role and my latest commitment to bring on events that provide real change in the business and lives of people who make the time to support us the Recharge your Future concept was born.

Any activation wouldn't be made possible without the support and participation of our community members so I am so honored when reaching out to leading cannabis industry experts and mentors they were willing to participate!

A heartfelt thank you to Rashaunah Williams SHRM-CP , Lori DeCarlo , Victoria Williams , Sina Daneshvaran , Sandy Serna , Kim Patrasso , Will Matos , Gina Gault , Jordan Meléndez , J.T. Stinnette , Nicole Mendoza , Gabriel Mendoza , Angelyn Anderson, Ed.D. so excited for Black CannaBusiness Expo attendees to mingle with some of our leading community leaders committed to the growth of our cannabiz ecosystem.

So honored to be part of and supported by our amazing team at CannaTech Ventures Dominic Marella , Elantā Slowek , Candace M. Clark , Noemi Romero , John Zozzaro , Michael Jaroscak (MJ)
