How is Truth Like Pheromones?

When I first started this newsletter, I promised to provide:
"Insights on how marketers can be clutter-busters & trust-builders in a noisy and distrusting world."
So, in keeping with the TRUST part of my pledge, it occurred to me how much trust is like pheromones. And I decided to write about it.
So, how is truth like pheromones?
I think that truth is immediately sensed just like pheromones. It bypasses the monkey mind.
When girl meets boy, and vice versa I suppose, she's either attracted or repelled by his scent — pheromones. (A subtle, distinct set of chemicals released by everyone.)
I feel that this 'sense' can be trusted, but we're so far removed from trusting our own innate senses, that we've forgotten how to detect them.
It's very similar with trusting our gut... or not.
When I do, it never fails me. But when I don't (which is often), I can create a real mess for myself!
Now, this pheromone-phenom seems well accepted in other mammals, but the 'scientific' verdict is still out on whether or not it works in humans.
For other mammals, they're recognized as being responsible for sexual attraction, mate selection, danger signaling, and more.
The olfactory senses (sense of smell) sheds more light on the subject for those needing validation. I mean, who can argue with the NIH, right?
For me, I don't need scientific data to prove or disprove it... I know it from my own experience.
I feel that truth is like this... people know it when they hear it. If they listen.
Well, not all people are experts at sensing truth (or lies). But many people are quite good at seeing through inauthentic marketing messages.
The truth is that marketers are not trusted by most people. Remember Seth Godin's book, All Marketers are Liars!
And the Gen Zers have a very acute B.S. meter that detects lies (or half truths). And they don't trust marketers. And since they're quickly becoming the BIGGEST market...
It's important to pay attention to that, methinks.
Before marketers put out any kind of marketing messages, whether on social media, story-telling, ads — all content — make sure it's genuine.
And consistently genuine.
The dire need — the hunger and thirst for truth and trust — in our world cannot be exaggerated...
As we all see the flagrant disregard of human life everywhere around us and across the world...
In both our personal lives and in the everyday lives of CEOs, responsible for their companies' Brand reputation, as well as growth...
Please SEE the opportunity for you to BE someone to CHANGE the trajectory from profit over people — to truth over tricks.
Start there.
I hope my words touch your heart and resonate with that part of you that isn't honored very often in modern life.
Like pheromones — our own ability to discern truth from lies, sincerity from pretence — is there, waiting to help us.
We just need to trust it.

Be a 'Clutter-Buster & Trust-Builder in a Noisy and Distrusting World,' by attracting the right audience, with the Pheromone-Phenom.
