How to Trigger your Investor???

How to trigger your investor’s interest through an investor pitch that your investors simply can’t turn down?

I’ll tell you how.

“Let’s have a big round of applause,” said Mr. John, the investor who David, wanted to impress so badly.

“I have never felt so hooked to any presentations before. This what you have presented is a masterpiece David and I am definitely going to invest in your company.”

An investor’s pitch is one single thing that could get one either into the business or off the ground. So one has to be really careful while preparing for an investor’s pitch.

David was not really new to the business world. He had spent years trying to get his investors to invest in his company but there was always a missing factor about his business that David failed to notice until now.

David was no doubt talented. But talent is not the only factor that can determine one’s success in business.

It takes a lot more than that than one can imagine.

The first time David prepared an investor pitch was so boring that his investors had to stop him halfway through it.

The second time when David started his investor's pitch he definitely made it shorter but he missed out on the major details and facts thus leading his investors to lose interest.

Every time David came up with new modifications but it was never good enough.

Then one day David decided to find out what was it that he was not being able to catch. His business idea was super impressive, his idea of implementing them was equally amazing then why was he not able to trigger the curiosity of his investors.

It was then when he came across an article that explained in detail how to start an investor’s pitch. David regretted not doing his homework previously but it’s never too late to make improvements.

He immediately noted down the important points and started making a draft of his next investor's pitch.

He made sure he devoted enough time to it so that he doesn’t have to go through the entire process of drafting an investor's pitch again.

The first and the most important thing he had to keep in mind was to make his pitch simple short and to the point, just enough to hook the investors and the audience.

The next thing he had to focus on was avoiding too many details. Giving the intricate details in an investor pitch would be really boring.

The best thing one could do to get one’s investors to listen to them would be to use a storytelling approach which would be both quick and interesting.

After months of preparation, David was finally ready to pitch before his investors.

He knew the timing was critical. The shorter the pitch, the better it is.

David started off by saying that he would take only five minutes of their time but actually, he knew his pitch would only be of three minutes.

He made sure to give all his slides equal time and did not linger on any particular slide for more than a minute.

Storytelling has been proven to be an effective way to catch the audience’s attention. Besides, it leaves a lasting impression on the listener and makes it unforgettable.

David started off by telling a story that was really intriguing. Usually, investors are bored with statistics and figures and numbers. So David’s idea of telling a story was really significant.

Through his story, David gave his investors a brief idea of how his product would look like and of what use would it be.

But again he just didn’t keep talking about the product because he knew the only thing that the investors are interested in is making money out of the products.

David through his 5-minute slide explained what were the things that made his product unique and how he intended on acquiring his target audience.

In short, his pitch was just exactly how his investors wanted it to be.

Besides, practice makes a man perfect. David’s previous experiences along with unrestrained practice made him look more confident this time.

Also, he had anticipated the possible questions the investors might have and had prepared answers for the same.

He instantly came up with solutions every time he addressed a problem. In other words, he gave his investors no chance to question him or make any objections.

In no time was David finally able to get his investors to invest in his company.

So long story short. There few things that David kept in mind and even if you do will easily get your investors on your side.

First, keep it short followed by the importance of describing your product or service not putting a lot of emphasis on the details but however not failing to explain the uniqueness about your product or service. Along with that, it’s always advisable to use a storytelling approach and to be prepared about the possible objections that your investors might have and having solutions for the same.

If you can keep these points in mind then I am sure in no time your investors will be super impressed. So now you know how to start an investor's pitch.
