How To Transition from In Person to Virtual Events
Eric Flick
Senior Director of Operations, Gladiator GRC & Centurion Disaster Recovery Services
I’m extremely proud of the InfraGard Indiana chapter!!! Today was supposed to be our 5th Annual [In Person] Financial Services Sector event. Each year this event has grown nicely, and we had the same expectation for this year. COVID-19 changed all of that. This is a resilient group, and perhaps now more than ever requires that persistent mindset.
So, we pivoted from our planned in person meeting to a webinar. We appreciate CNO Financial Group in Carmel, IN who was to be our host, and Indy Fresh Catering, who was going to provide an awesome breakfast buffet.
Expedient hosted our webinar. With some marketing assistance from InfraGard National (INMA), our webinar attracted almost 10x what our in person event would have!!!
A special thanks to Doug Theis and Expedient for hosting us, to Magdalena (Maggie) Collins, M.S.Ed Collins, our chapter President for her marketing efforts and engaging National. Our event coordinator Brian Toevs, PhD, MBA Financial Services Sector Chief, and our speakers – Rachel Sitarz and Max Henderson from Pondurance, and Christopher Collins, former FBI Special Agent, with KAR Global.
This event provided critical information to help keep our Financial Services sector protected and resilient. Now more than ever, we need leadership that is willing to find a way, in spite of the challenges. This is the new normal for the foreseeable future. Find a way to make your events happen – they’re still important and people need information.
Great IT starts with great leadership. Let’s talk about the future of leadership and enterprise IT.
