Recently I read what Warren Bennis (a pioneer in leadership research) had to say about #leadership . To him, he regards leadership as the "capacity to translate vision into reality".
In the work I do, I often remind people that our #mindset is the "capacity to influence other through inspiration that is motivational, vision-led, mission-focused and purpose-driven".
Therefore if we fully understand these two ideas, our leadership mindset is really our capacity that create our reality through our vision, mission and purpose that drives us towards inspiring and motivating those around us.
As leaders, our understanding of what a true leader is will be critical in how we relate to the people in our team. The type of mindset that all successful leaders should have would be a transformational mindset (TM); and for TM to happen will require us to adopt the 4 types of thinking.
Curiosity Thinking
This is the urge to continually know more. The simplest way for me to explain what curiosity thinking represents is to know that to be curious is to not be apathetic.
Growth Thinking
Curiosity will create a fertile ground for successful seeding of learning and creating new ideas
Abundance Thinking
The knowledge that all of us have the innate ability to grow will erase any scarcity thinking.
Gratitude Thinking
This type of thinking is the feedback system that informs us it is not always about the growing and the taking but we need to be mindful of giving back as well.
