How to Train Your Mind for Success

How to Train Your Mind for Success

“Why do you stay in prison when the door is so wide open?” Rumi

For many of us, we are in a prison of our own minds.? Our childhood experiences, our parents, our teachers, our society have all taught us beliefs about what we “can” or “can’t” do, how we “should” or “shouldn’t” live and, ultimately, who we “can” or “can’t be”.

They gave us limitations.? They gave us bars to hold us in prison.

Most of those beliefs are taught to us with good intentions; to try and keep us safe & alive.? But as we become adults, some of those beliefs stick with us and they are keeping us from the lives we want to live, the impact we could have and the people we truly are.

For me, I believed I needed a stable job with a stable income.? I believed I needed to play-it-safe so I could be happy.? I would have a stable job, a wife, a dog, kids and a house in the suburbs.? Underneath the surface, was a belief that I was not accepted until I had those things and when you’re not accepted, it gets dark pretty quickly.

Once I changed those beliefs, it allowed me to pivot into a fulfilling path as a high-performance leadership coach building high-impact leaders who turn their teams into happy high performers that achieve their goals.

My impact has massively increased, my happiness has massively increased and, most importantly, I am reaching more of my potential as a person.

I had to take a step back and heal, so I could take a giant leap forward.

So I have some homework for you.? Pause & reflect on the following questions:

  • Are you truly happy & fulfilled in your life?
  • What beliefs do you have about what you should be doing and who you should be?
  • Around your career/job?
  • Around your family?
  • Around your finances?
  • Around your health?
  • Where are those beliefs holding you back?
  • What are those beliefs protecting you from?
  • Do you need that protection anymore?

Feel free to DM me your answers or email me them at [email protected] .? I’m happy to jump on a Zoom to talk about them and give you some strategies on changing those beliefs to unlock your potential!

Very relatable Rob Kalwarowsky. I agree that the biggest gains in our lives - career and personal - often come after a period of reflection and taking a risk to try something different that pushes the self-limiting boundaries.

Can definitely relate - if I had allowed the bars to confine me my life wouldn't haven't been so fulfilling and those I helped along the way a little less fulfilled as well
