But what does it actually mean? And how do you know when you’re doing a good job at it??

This week on the Leader's Edge Blog, we get into the weeds of the mind - how thinking differently can change your whole leadership trajectory and how two distinct types of thinking can help you to rise in the ranks of your organization.?

Do you know the difference between divergent and convergent thinking? And when to use each as a leader??

Leadership Challenge (Feb. 5th - 11th)

Strategic thinking helps you to balance the priorities of those you report to and those you lead.?

This week, practice using both divergent and convergent thinking by asking yourself the following questions:?

  1. If you could have a “perfect week” as a leader, what could you say you’ve accomplished by the end of it??
  2. What is one problem that you can take the “band-aid” off of and figure out a permanent solution to??
  3. How do you want to protreat people this week when you’re amid rapid-fire stress??

Reflect on and write down the answers to these questions.?

Strategic thinking is a skill that’s learned over time and many different experiences, so don’t rush it! Look for opportunities to practice divergent and convergent thinking while keeping your leadership vision clear over the next week.?
