How much are you networking like a pro when you go to these conferences?
Here is the deal.
When you go to a coaching conference, you must have a prime objective already written, rehearsed, and thoughtfully planned out before going.
Like.
How many people do you want to meet?
Who is going to be there?
Is your 30-second commercial rehearsed and perfected?
And MORE.
I can tell you too.
The most important factor is your magnetic personality.
When you meet someone who has no personality, you don't remember them, do you?
Then when you meet someone with a magnetic one.
You talk about them for days!
So start with developing a magnetic one.
This is why you have to understand that…
Your ability to transfer your message will depend on how hypnotic you are when networking because it isn't what you say, It's how you say it, and it's not what you do, it's how you do it.
Here 6 things that you can do to start networking like a pro at these conferences.
Create a powerful 30-second commercial.
Rehearse it in front of the mirror.
Pay close attention to your body language and your facial expressions while doing this.
Also.
Get some feedback from friends.
Then.
Keep tweaking it until it is energetic and spontaneous and natural.
Create 20 powerful questions.
To network like a pro.
You have to understand that, the person who is asking the questions, is the person who is controlling the conversation.
Which means that.
The better you get at doing this, the better you can get at building rapport and once you build rapport, you can develop a great relationship with them.
Practice this on your friends and family.
Ask insightful questions and then stay silence and listen to them.
This can be very powerful and will have a powerful effect on your relationships with them.
Create 20 powerful statements.
Think about how you can follow up on your questions to gain credibility.
This is where you have to dive deep and think this through all the way, meaning, if they say this, I will say that, and on and on leading them to your main objective.
Did you know that?
You can actually mentally play out in your mind how you want certain conversations to play out, and they will!
Don't waste time
Imagine 500 or more coaches at a conference you are attending.
You can meet 80% of them by limiting the time that you spend with them.
Oh yeah, if you are attending with another coworker.
Split up and only talk at the hotel!
Of course.
If it's a prime prospect.
Spend more time connecting, but no more than 10 minutes.
Never forget that...

Every second counts.
Pro networking tip.
Get there early and stay later than other coaches.
That way.
You can have that extra time to meet more people and make MORE connections.
Write down some notes on their name card.
How many times have you met someone and then looked at their card and couldn't remember anything about them?
This is why you should write down a few notes about the person, special interests, family members, and hobbies.
Lead with that information when you follow up with them later.
Send an email or letter as a follow-up.
Again.
Lead with the information you got from them at the conference in the email or letter.
And set up a time to talk or meet in the near future.
Make sure you give them a good reason to meet you, too.
You should have already planned this out in advance, so that shouldn't be a problem.
Be friendly and not pushy.
Because.
As a famous writer wrote.
All things being equal, people want to do business with friends, and all things being not equal, people still want to be with their friends.
Your prime objective is to build relationship capital.
Something many coaches never take the time to understand plays a vital factor in the growth of their coaching businesses.
Me too.
But now I do, and I stress this to all my coaching clients.
The more relationship capital you build, the more success you can create for your coaching business.
Last networking tip.
Keep upgrading your skills daily.
Become a student of the networking game and seek to master it.
Study NLP as well.
Here is an NLP tip you can try to use immediately...
After you do all 6 of these things above.
Go to the conference and pretend you are already a networking pro!
Act the part as best you can, and feel the part.
This is powerful, because.
You will become who you pretend yourself to be!
Okay.
Let me know what you think about these networking tips and if I missed any, please add them in the comment section.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
