Harnessing the benefits of technology in meat and seafood business
When we designed TenderCuts to be an omnichannel brand, we knew having the technological upper hand alone will do to make our business happen the way we wanted. Integrating technology into our process from procurement to transportation, last-mile delivery, quality control, stock management, store management, staff management, pilferage control… TenderCuts was able to go the distance and grow to be the brand it is today because of our continuous investment, involvement, and innovations in technology.
Our tech vs the pandemic
We championed tech much before it became a necessity as proved by Covid-19. It is also because of our forethought, planning, and high-stand on the tech that we were more than ready when Covid-19 struck and rendered many other businesses incapacitated. All through the lockdown and the different phases of unlocking, we watched the traffic to our website and App surge almost 5x times, but not only were we well-placed to handle the surge online, our investment in creating a streamlined process ensured seamless product availability. Scalable servers meant easy handling of the traffic, much to the delight of our customers. With lockdown easing, customers were once again ready to drop into our stores. This is when we introduced ‘Contactless Retail’ as a service to ensure that our customers did not have to wait in long queues or spend more time at our stores. Contactless Retail allowed our customers to book their orders online.
The orders were tracked and allotted to be processed at a store closest to them from where they could simply pick them up during the given slot timing within minutes, without any hassle.?

Of demand, supply, and tech
We use Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to predict demand and meet them. A small example would be how we handle our Sunday morning rush. Our algorithms tell us that we should expect over 300 orders in one slot. But for the technological superiority we have, managing that would never be possible. We also use our machine learning insights to split these orders based on the optimal drift of each rider/delivery person and plan their trips to make sure that the order reaches the customers on time.
How tech makes us different from others
Our unique inventory model accommodates all the complexities of preparing the specialized cuts for delivery after the order is placed. From making fresh inventory available to reserving stock offline and online, preventing pilferage, keeping tabs on every mile of the order’s journey from our stores to your kitchen, we have only technology to thank.
Since the pandemic, our business is more active online and this makes it ever so important to keep continuously upgrading our firewall and security to ensure peace of mind to our customers. By staying ahead of the requirement, adding features, and setting up safety protocols, we have been able to make online shopping safe and easy for each of our customers.
Moving on, we are working on a system of complete transparency wherein the customers can see where their meat was procured from, at what temperature the meat was shipped to the warehouse, how it is maintained, the name of the butcher who cut the meat, at what time the meat was cut, along with the details of the delivery person. We have always claimed that our meats are the freshest from farm to fork and we would like our customers to see it for real.?
