How to tell about your experience in an Interview

With all the interviews you attend , role wise when you apply, the way you prepare for your interview you need to prepare to explain your experience as well .

Being a candidate you can have your own style of sequencing it but you need to keep in mind that even the HR have their own way to put their query and its not always easy to understand the intent of the question and what is it that is being extracted or concluded from that question . Few tips which can be maintained :

1. Do not memorize your entire experience as that have a tendency to recall and then you might go wrong in placing its details as mentioned in the resume .
2. Prefer to be precise and keep a brief of the role you are in unless you are being asked in detail
3. Your achievements for that role matters so try not to generalize the achievements with your normal work routine.
4. Use simple short sentences and easy vocabulary keeping aware of the grammatical error in mind
5. Do not sound over confident about the role you are getting interviewed for , that may put you into trouble , be confident to what you are best in as generally over confidence means over commitment as well .
6. Focus on the specifics : Like a question if asked "Tell me about a conflicting situation which you handled and what you learnt from it"? While stating this , be neutral while sharing the incident and then share your observations as learning from the same .
7. Each company you have worked for has a duration - better to talk about years you spent ( like 2 yrs, 5 yrs) like this and not dates , as its not easy to remember.
8. Share some best moments from your experience - if this is the question - connect to both what you achieved and what the organization also achieved during your stay there- An overall perspective.

It is important , to be clear and not over indulge into stating and expressing and explaining too many things . Transparency and a clarity of your understanding of the question is enough to address .
