How Telecoms Can Be The Heroes?

Communication has always been a major part of our personal and business lives.

At a time of world crisis, like the one being posed by the Coronavirus, communication becomes an anchor that we all need to lean on. We need to be connected to our friends, families, and our business

When hundreds of millions of people are ordered into quarantine, and most businesses are expected to operate flawlessly while their employees work from their homes, communication is an essence. CSPs how will be clever enough to recognize the trends will become the heroes of this crisis. 

CSPs should recognize the consumption of communication is rapidly changing. Remote workforce requires a higher service level when working from home, secure communications and additional services such as collaboration tools. Consumers will spend more time-consuming media services, over additional devices and at different hours of the day. Both businesses and consumers look up to the CSP to ensure communication is available, reliable, and secure. 

CSPs need to use advanced AI/Deep learning technologies to analyze the new usage scenarios of consumers and businesses and align their network & offerings to support communication for every person and every business, at any time. Moreover, the CSP should help their employees work from home, use analytical dashboards to track their health status and ensure its workforce is healthy ready to support world communication.  

What CSPs should do now?

  •  Network & Critical services

The network should be ready to scale to handle massive connections of the remote workforce and remote learning of students.

  • New packages (‘Work & Enjoy at home’ package)

Offer new packages that support the new usage scenarios of businesses. Those packages should include secure and reliable communication & collaboration for all employees who work from home.

Offer new entertainment packages which include more content, more variety, more devices, and reliable streaming.

  • CSP’s Workforce

Deploy “health & risk analytics” on all the CSPs employees, learning and predicting employees at risk and providing alternative plans.
