How to take a think day or think the weekend!
How you navigate through life and how you feel largely depends on your thoughts. Your thoughts are immensely powerful.
I am currently reading the Power of Focus by Jack Canfield, I read about a story of Peter Daniels, He came from nothing to a very successful man. When asked what turned his life from triple indebtedness to unprecedented success, he replied, “ I scheduled time to think In fact, I reserve one day a week on my calendar just to think. All of my greatest ideas, opportunities, and money-making ventures started with the days I took off to think.”
I did a little research and found that many successful people do take time to think, this includes Bill Gates and Michael Karnjanaprakornwho take “think week”. Not all of us can afford to take “think weeks “ but we can afford to take time to think whether it’s an hour, day, or week to our daily lives.
How do I do this?
1. 1.Set up space- find a place that you can take time to think. Is it comfortable, is it free from distractions? It can be a challenge when you have family around. It’s is very important to inform your family, or friends that you can’t be reached during these times
2. Cut out all distractions -Cut all the distractions from noise, unplug all your phones and other gadgets where you can easily get distracted.
3. Find a Theme or an area you want to focus on.
What is troubling your mind? Do you have questions in mind that you need answers to? Perhaps, you just need to start by asking WHY, HOW, WHO
Will you try the thinking hour, day, or think weekend? If you would like to try them, please let me know how that worked out for you, what you learned about yourself and your plans. Sometimes the moment of silence is what you need to get clarity.
