How to take things up a level in 2023
It’s a new year. It’s a fresh start. It’s a year of possibilities.?
In 2022, 54% of the UK population made New Year’s resolutions.
That’s 28 million people!
But have you ever struggled to stick to your resolution?
For many reasons, they don’t always work out. Sometimes it's through a lack of motivation or not having the right support to implement your plans.?

It’s a new start. A chance to start the year off differently.
I'm sure you have plans for the future, plans that are personal. Plans to improve your life.

HOW TO KEEP ON TRACK IN 2023
If you’re working on goals for 2023, here are 5 steps to get started and keep going throughout the year. ?

STEP ONE: CREATE ATTAINABLE GOALS?
Focus on creating a goal for a specific area of your life, don’t spread yourself too thin by focusing on multiple areas. Think about your personal and professional life. What changes do you want to make??
Remember to set goals that are realistic and attainable. Set goals that you can accomplish in 6-12 months. It's important to give your goal a time frame to work towards. A deadline for achieving it.
STEP TWO: WRITE YOUR GOALS OUT
It might seem obvious but write down your goals. A Forbes article found that vividly describing your goals in a written form is strongly associated with goal success.?Neuropsychologists identified the “generation effect”, by writing your own material, you are more likely to remember it instead of something you would have read. ?
By generating the goal, you create a picture in your mind. When you write down those goals, you’re reprocessing or regenerating that image. Keeping those goals clear in your brain.?
Set yourself up for success by writing down your goals!?
STEP THREE: PLAN YOUR GOALS
Great! You have your goal for the year, now what? Don’t let your goal turn into a dream that was never actioned. Think about what changes you can make to get you closer to achieving what you want. Remember, write these down. Give yourself an outline to work with.?

STEP FOUR: KEEP TRACK OF YOUR GOALS?
Keep on track, you’ve written your goals out but don’t stop there. Tape your goals to your bathroom mirror or somewhere where you can always see them, first thing in the morning and last thing at night. Take a photo of your goals and use them as your computer screensaver or phone wallpaper, let them be a constant presence and reminder of what you have set out to achieve.?
STEP FIVE: REWARD YOURSELF
Always celebrate your wins. Every time you achieve a goal (no matter the size), reward yourself! You’re more likely to want to continue making those positive steps if you treat recognise your achievements.
NEXT STEPS
If you’re ready to make changes in your life, always remember that you can reach out to others. Change doesn’t happen overnight and sometimes the journey can seem daunting. Reach out to loved ones, tell them about your plans or if you feel you’re falling off track; reach out and be honest about your journey. If you don’t feel comfortable reaching out to loved ones, or you need someone to help you see those plans out, then get in touch!?
