When deciding on an accounting platform, Shopify merchants have a few decision to make. But after a few trials with Xero, Zoho, and Freshbooks, I think that most accountants will prefer Quickbooks.
When I looked at the Shopify app store, there are a few choices. 6 months ago, there were not nearly as many options as there are today, but 1 theme remains true...that integrating your eCommerce store with your accounting system, can become another costly monthly expense, and one that will make you question if you're choosing the right solution.
As an emerging eCommerce brand, it's easy to forget about the accounting side of growing your business and selling more. And when you finally have that minute to catch up on your accounting records, trying to figure out if the transactions are reconciling is anybody's guess.
I know, because when I looked at the general ledger in Quickbooks, there were so many transactions to comb through, so I called the help desk. But when I did, despite the analyst's efforts, he was unable to help.
Then I realized that all merchant's need accounting to be easy
Knowing a few things about web development and programming API's, I took to the internet to find the product documentation for Quickbooks. I've been working with Shopify for a few years now and was fortunate to learn the different API's when I was working on a project for a Fortune 500 company.
Qwibo was built for merchants who need a solution to synchronize Shopify Payouts data with Quickbooks.
The app uses your Quickbooks Online account setup so all of the journal entries and transactions will be straightforward and easy to understand.
Once Qwibo is configured, you can start to backfill in the historical transactions, simply by clicking the Process payout link.
And you can see the status of the transactions synchronize in real time.
Then when you or your accountant logs into your Quickbooks Online account, they will have all of the orders already processed.
Additionally, you or your accountant will be able to view the Shopify Transaction Fees charged for each order.
And by selecting a sales receipt entry, you can see the details, in the itemized order including, taxes, shipping, discounts, and Shopify transaction fees.
The next time you or your accountant reconciles the transactions, it will be easy to match the payouts with the orders.
So if you need a quick way to load your historical Shopify transactions and synchronize your store with Quickbooks Online, give Qwibo a try.
