How to Survive at Content Writing in the Age of AI

How to Survive at Content Writing in the Age of AI

AI writing tools are no doubt taking place in the content writing industry. Before #ChatGPT the scenario was quite different. There was more job availability in various organizations, blogs, and businesses. But now, I see comparatively fewer opportunities, especially on Linkedin.

Although it’s true that AI still needs more improvements to generate proper human-like content. I can say from my personal experiences that whatever I’ve generated from GPT required around? 40% editing. The output contains repeated contexts and many uncommon words. And that will seriously create a negative impact on readers’ engagement.?

In addition, if you want to add something personal or share personal viewpoints, there’s no other way than to write by yourself. And trust me, this type of content follows the EAT functions properly. That’s what Google wants to provide helpful content for a better user experience.?

Okay now let’s see how you can save your job from AI, especially if you’re a content writer.

Become A Niche Writer

Those days are gone when you could say, “I can write anything with just a little research.” Because ChatGPT can write much better and faster if it’s about ‘anything’. But if you’re working on a specific niche for a long time and have become a master, no AI can replace you.

Moreover, recruiters nowadays demand a niche experienced writer rather than an average one. Because these writers know very well about the industry and trends to provide much better information to engage with the audience.?

Master AI Before It Masters You

Days have changed! People want quick results and fast growth. The same goes for your content writing. With AI tools productivity has been boosted by unimaginable amounts. Now with ChatGPT, you can publish 6 articles a week instead of 3 without AI (even more than that). Besides, clients also demand more submissions if you’re allowed to use AI.

Hence, in this situation, don’t keep yourself away from AI. Otherwise, you might end up having no job to do. But remember, never accept everything directly that AI generates for your content.

Learn #SEO Copywriting?

SEO copywriting shall never lose its human dependence before AI’s dominance. Why? Because people want people’s responses instead of a BOT. When you share your personal experience in a review article or any form of content, it becomes more unique. Besides, the content resonates better with the audience.?

Being an SEO writer also has another huge advantage. You can follow the latest Google guideline before AI tools get a data update for your writings. Additionally, you can create anchor texts based on your choice and keywords for internal and external linking.

Become a Subject Matter Expert?

Academic writing is something that demands only Human writers. Because it requires very deep research on various resources. And that no AI tool can give you a proper citation. And trust me, subject matter experts are in high demand in Ed Tech platforms. If you’re good at a subject (Economy, Psychology, Medical Science, etc.), you can easily acquire a full-time or freelance job.

Develop Your #Storytelling Skills?

The power of storytelling always remains a uniquely human advantage. By mastering the art of storytelling, you can create content that not only informs but also emotionally connects with your readers. In addition, this skill enables you to craft engaging narratives capturing attention and setting you apart from AI-generated pieces.?

Your storytelling abilities will help you add depth, personality, and relatability to your content. With storytelling ability, you can apply for script writing, ebook writing, and various other content writing job.

Build a strong personal brand?

Do you know what’s the major disadvantage of AI? it can never build a personal brand. A strong #personalbranding allows you to promote yourself. Moreover, businesses and brands get to know about you and your work.?

Utilize social media platforms to share your work, engage with your audience, and network with fellow professionals. Attend industry events and webinars to expand your knowledge and connect with people for new opportunities.?

By cultivating your personal brand, you demonstrate the value you bring to the table. Invest in your brand to secure a place in the content writing industry, even as AI continues to evolve.

Conclusion

In the end, I’d say, AI is undoubtedly going to be everywhere. But humans will always be there to operate it. All you need to do is keep yourself up to date. There are changes we’re currently looking at. And we have to be ready for the future.?

I'm a starter and I'm finding much good advice from your articles...keep it real..bro

AI is a real thereat in my opinion but this is exactly why we need to learn to leverage it so it won't replace us!

Ranjan Roy another smashing newsletter! Loving it! Keep 'em coming! What you said, is that chatbot can't write personalized content but obviously, a generic one is so right! We can take help from AI for better ideas, and better word framing context but becoming dependent on it, NOO. In the long run, it won't work.
