How to Successfully Transition From an Employee to an Employer
“Of the country’s approximately 100 million full-time employees, 51 percent aren’t engaged at work — meaning they feel no real connection to their jobs, and thus they tend to do the bare minimum.” CBSNews.com states in the article, Why So Many Americans Hate Their Jobs.
Do you find yourself in that 51%? You may feel as if it happened overnight. Or, maybe you feel as if it has been a slow shift in your attitude over the last few years. Either way, all of us desire to find a “real connection” with our jobs.
If the thought keeps crossing your mind to own your own company, it may be time for you to start researching the idea and getting serious about a transition.
Don’t Quit Your Day Job…Yet
Becoming a franchise owner could be an ideal situation if you are worried about a smooth transition from your current job to becoming your own boss…without having to quit one job to start another.
Since bills can’t wait and buying a franchise isn’t free, a wise choice may be to stay with your current position while starting the process of buying a franchise. Transition time from your current job to running your own company may be a scary thought; but it can be done successfully. How so?
Successfully Transitioning
With a new start-up business, much time is spent researching, planning, testing, learning, and adjusting your business plan. With a proven franchise system, the “go time” is shortened since the business plan has already been tried and tested. There is no need for a lengthy or stressful transition.
Envision the Transition and Make Your Move
Reality being what it is, we all need to keep bringing home that paycheck. Now that you are considering doing something with real purpose and meaning, you'll find you have a new passion for life. You'll also find that there are many people there to guide you along the way. With that being said, there are many ways for this to work. If your spouse still works, that may work with the budget. There are also multiple avenues for financing available. Remember, you are the greatest asset your business holds. Otherwise, the business won't grow. Financiers know this, but it's something most people don't.
Remember, everyone who started a business was afraid at first. I mean everyone. That's normal. Ask yourself this, if this is as good as it gets, am I happy here?
