The failure and success relationship
Failure is one of the most difficult things an entrepreneur faces. Your business can seem as if it’s an extension of yourself. It’s your creation.
So when you put a new program out there, and you hear crickets because no one is responding, the initial response is disappointment. The duration of these uncomfortable, challenging moments is up to you. Why let disappointment linger any longer than absolutely necessary?
Turn a negative into a positive
Here’s where the concept of failing fast can turn a negative into a positive. Frequently a program that’s released is viewed as an end result. Instead, I encourage you to shift your perception. View your new program as a process. Even if it’s brilliant now, you’ll look back in a couple years and notice its flaws.
Become adaptive. Realize the one thing you’re doing now is part of a larger plan. Try stuff, test it and figure out what works. If it’s positive, that’s fantastic. If not, then fail fast and flex accordingly.
The science of success
Entrepreneurs are “in the lab” and hoping to create the next best thing. Success, however, is not an exact science.
The decisions you make today will impact your future success. Maintain the momentum. A firm decision changes something within you. Yes, people will attempt to influence you. However, the final decision is yours. Life will be more fulfilling when you choose your path (and own your choice) instead of allowing others to choose it for you.
