Changes come in various shapes and sizes. How we approach them defines us, and as my job is about helping my clients to transition personally and professionally, I’m always eager to learn how people prepare for complete life turnarounds.?
I’ve asked student-athletes how they see themselves after finishing the education process considering, that sports will not be a source of income for them.?
Here is what I found!
How do students perceive life after Uni??
The most common threat that students can see is what’s unseen and cannot be controlled. That’s probably because I’ve started my research 15 months after the first “2 weeks” lockdown, and we all know how it continued. What’s interesting is, such events are seen more as imminence to personal life. Professionally, the young generation is willing to work remotely, and hybrid job offers are more likely to be chosen.?
Professionally, what they expect is a likeable job with a good salary and growth opportunities. How and where is less important as long as they can have a social life.?
Only 22% of responders declared a will to start their own business and only 6% of them started it already on a small scale.?
Generally, I can say that all students want to dedicate the next 10 years to establishing a professional career and enjoying a social life.?

Purpose in life.
Knowing students’ plans for the next 10 years after graduation, I was surprised to learn that for 88% of students planning a family is the main drive in life. Yes, like I’ve mentioned before it’s not just yet, but that was one of 3 the most important things when I asked for a purpose in life.?
The wealth or so-called financial freedom had 52%, and the social status 38%.
Is life scary?
Not really. There are some doubts, and the one worth mentioning is that hard work might not be enough so reaching career goals might not be possible or will be delayed. It was stated directly by only 22% of responders, however, an additional 64% mentioned it indirectly, which gives us 86% in total.?
What do you think? Is life after Uni a combination of hard work and entertainment??
To be fair it was for me, however, I was an exception among my friends I studied with, and I’ve graduated with my master’s degree in sports.?
If you’re a student and you think about getting ready for what's coming feel free to get in touch. I’ll be happy to help!
