How strong are you?

How strong are you?

I'm not talking about being physically strong yourself, although I do hope you all have a personal trainer or programme for this, rather, I'm asking about the strength of your business.

How would it run without you? Can you confidently say that the whole team knows what the long-term vision is, what they need to gain traction & they have the discipline & accountability to execute this, even in your absence?

And would you trust them to do it? Could you let go? Because you know you have the right people in the right seats & the right processes?

This is what EOS is all about & this week's newsletter gives you a chance to check out how you are doing in the 6 key components and some tools to help you with personal stress & process.

I'm grateful to be back in the saddle this week, having done 2 awesome client sessions. One was a team who have just completed their first quarter & other was a brand new team who are just starting on their EOS journey.

Both were fabulous sessions in different ways. The team doing their first quarterly are a long-term, established family business. They have had an amazing quarter & it was great to hear how much EOS is helping them. They nailed all their measurable & have set some strong rocks for the next quarter.

The 2nd team are already high growth & hugely motivated & thanks to a great leader, they have managed to build a fantastic team & work with some amazing clients. However, they needed some clarity around structure & focus. We delivered this in our first session by working on their Accountability Chart & teaching them some simple, pragmatic tools to use in the business. They're super excited to put these tools into action & I'm excited to see them in 30 days time to see how they're going.

On a personal note, I had my Dad's wake last week & whilst it was a tough day, it was great to be able to be with his friends & celebrate his life. I have so much to be grateful for from my father & I am pleased we got to spend that time for him, for me & for his friends.

I shall be going backwards & forwards to Australia over the next few months whilst I sort out his stuff & affairs, so I know I'm going to have to use my own tools to manage my business & my own entrepreneurial energy ??

Hope you enjoy the newsletter & the bonus that I have below:

BETTER LIFE: Build in Ways to Recover from Work Stress

No alt text provided for this image

Stress may be unavoidable in the workplace. But you’ll be better able to handle it if you take steps to recover rather than continuing to power through. If you feel like you’re edging toward burnout, try these strategies.

  1. Detach psychologically from work. Dedicate time each day to a non-work-related activity. Learn which triggers prevent you from putting down work, and proactively avoid them. For example, if the presence of your phone prompts you to check work emails during off hours, turn it off or at least shut-off notifications temporarily.?
  2. Take micro-breaks. Short breaks, even just 10 minutes, are surprisingly effective. For example, doing a short meditation, eating a nutritious snack, having a pleasant social interaction, or reading an article can improve motivation and concentration, improve your mood, and help you sustain your energy throughout the day.?
  3. Prioritize higher-effort activities. Passive activities such as watching TV or listening to a podcast are only so helpful for recovery. Consider going to the gym, playing team sports, or even going for walks, bikes, hikes, or swimming; research shows that more active activities are more effective.?
  4. Build an environment that optimizes recovery. While they may seem minor, small things like having some plants and natural light in your office can positively impact your sleep quality, perceived stress, and overall health.?
