A method that works for me is finning underwater, using Technisub Ala fins with 13" blades. So effective has this been that I have broken fins with plastic blades, made by Speedo - the first two pairs, I managed to break the bond between the foot pocket and the blade, the final pair, with vented blades, sheared the blades at the vent
