How Stories Can Save Us

How Stories Can Save Us

? A story I told

This week, I have shared a story about the voices in so many of our heads. For any of you struggling, I am here to say, you are enough. Exactly as you are, you are enough.

Do you have friends you can turn to when you feel overwhelmed? Do your colleagues know that you are an ally and they can turn to you in those moments when everything feels like it’s too much? ???

If you agree that building safe spaces in our every day lives is important and essential, please share this week's article with friends and loved ones to let them know you are available for them. Click here to read my article, "When your World Starts to Spin, Call me".

? A story that inspired me

I recently read an article in the New York Times called, “If You Give a Kid a Notebook, He’s Going to Ask for Time to Write.” I was touched by John’s story, particularly how writing and storytelling helped him heal himself as a teenager. This process can start at any age. It all starts with daily writing. You can read the article here.

? A storytelling tip

Storytelling can save lives and deeply support our mental health. Leading with story is a skill that one can learn. A good starting point is letting go of your own judgement of what happened. Here are more tips on how to begin.
