If you manage a Facebook Page, you will have noticed the increase in the amount of scam messages flooding your inbox lately, especially if you’re running paid ads. It’s driving me crazy!
These messages prey on the insecurities of small business owners, claiming copyright infringement or page deletion threats, hoping to lure you into phishing sites disguised as official notifications. Unfortunately, they do work a lot more often than you might think…
If you’ve already identified them as spam and scam then great, you’re not clicking on them. But they are still annoying, so read on and I’ll teach you how to create an easy automation to send those messages straight to spam without bugging you first.
First, let’s take a good look at how these messages work:
Best thing to do is avoid any contact so here’s how to send those Facebook scam messages straight into your spam folder:
2. Click ‘create automation’ in the top right and create automation.
3. Choose ‘start from scratch’ to create a new inbox automation.
4. Choose messenger and/or instagram depending on where you’re getting the messages.
5. Name your automation, I chose ‘scam bam’.
6. Choose when ‘new message received’.
7. Choose ‘keywords’ as the trigger for the automation. You get to add in your keywords next so have a look at the messages you’ve been getting from Facebook scammers to grab a few.

8. Enter common scammer terms like "trademark", "infringement", “intellectual” or "deletion" in the ‘message text contains all of the following keywords’ field.
9. Select action: in ‘take this action’ choose ‘mark as’ and then ‘move to spam’ to banish those messages to the digital abyss.
10. Save your automation and watch the spam disappear!
Remember:
By following these steps, you can reclaim your Facebook inbox and focus on what truly matters: engaging with your audience and building your online community.

6 个月Unfortunately there is no option to start an automation from scratch in the UK. Getting battered by these messages, around 10 a day at the moment. Despite flagging them and banning them, seems to encourage the bots even more, driving me nuts!
