How To Stop Forgetting Tasks/Things At Work

It's the start of a new week and you've made a mental note of all your tasks for the day/ week and you're pretty stoked about smashing your goals.?

However, you get busy with your work and by midday, you've forgotten a few of the tasks you were supposed to do and when you suddenly remember, you’re in the middle of something important.?


It's a scenario we all go through as we often have a ton of tasks to accomplish in a day and trying to remember them all becomes a task too. But not anymore as here are a few ways to stay on top of your task list.


  1. Create A Checklist

The smallest way to get more things done. For one-off tasks, keep it handwritten, for recurring tasks use an app. Check and uncheck!


  1. A To-Do List For The Next Day

When you're done with today’s work, think about what you have to accomplish tomorrow and create a ‘big five’ list of your top five tasks for the next day as it will help you prioritize.


  1. Label Or Tag Your Emails

Categorise your emails to track the progress. Tag them according to their priority, progress, the projects and the teams it belongs to.


  1. Set Up Reminders On Your Phone/ Laptop

This is where the Reminder Apps come in handy. Set an alarm to go off along with your reminder. If you're in a hurry, use your phone's voice commands feature to set a reminder.


  1. Use A Habit Tracking App

Habit-tracking apps work great for recurring tasks as they keep you accountable. Tasks you can add include weekly team catch-ups, checking emails every morning, taking time out for breaks.


  1. Set Up A Visual Board

Use those bright sticky notes to remind you of tasks that you often forget. Drink water. Close your eyes for a minute, take deep breaths, meeting at 6, follow up on a task. Stick them on.


  1. Set Alarms

Set a one-time or recurring alarm to remind you to make a call or attend a meeting or just take a breather. Make sure you set your alarm to go off a few minutes before a task is due.


  1. Stop Being A Multitasker

Focus on completing one task, and then move on to the next one. Start with your biggest priorities first, working your way to the least important tasks.


Be proactive and mindful- it will make all the difference!

Whether it's compiling a to-do list, scheduling an email, or setting an alarm, all it will take is a few minutes of your time that will help you to get more organized so you can seize the day.
