How To Stop Cravings (For GOOD)
Hard one isn't it
The CRAVING
Whether it's the wine in the evening (or afternoon if you're home-schooling)
through to the ice-cream and chocolate whilst watching Netflix after work
We all go through em
Few questions I need to ask first:
1. Are you eating within your cals? (If you are, you can skip the rest of this email guilt-free!!)
2. Are you only eating at certain times? (If yes, it's either going to be one of two reasons)
3. Is it because you're genuinely hungry? (Wanting something sweet or savoury isn't hunger)
4. Why are cravings bad?
The point I want you to remember here is that...
Your body is one complex piece of kit
Much like how my fingers are banging away on this here keyboard, which is being produced by words in my brain, and then they're being translated into text which "hopefully" makes sense to you
Through to the breath going in and out of your lungs right now!
Cravings are what make us human
We're underwater holding our breath, sooner or later you'll get a pretty strong craving for o2
When your body drops down by more than around 3 degrees, catastrophic consequences can occur
So yep cravings are normal, so stop demonising them
The minute you think about it as "good" or "bad" you've already lost
Instead you need to STOP yourself thinking and LISTEN:
What is your body trying to tell you?
What emotion are you after, or what feeling do you want the food craving to give you?
It's no different to craving smoking
**Which isn't a TRUE addiction by the way**
But it becomes so strong, that you feel some sort of magnetic pull towards it
You need to plan your way out of it
Sounds woo-woo right?
There's too much to cover here, as we're taking a general overview, but here's a simple few steps:
1. Remove yourself from the environment where the craving occurs
2. Talk to the people who are usually there with you during the situation
3. Come up with a list of suggestions for "lesser evils"
4. Commit to trying one of them, and then the next one if the first doesn't work
5. You're not STUCK with it, only if you believe you are
