How to Stop Chasing New Clients

How to Stop Chasing New Clients

There are may ways to grow your business.

Unfortunately, most involve chasing after new clients and customers, which is THE most expensive way to grow.

Of course, if the lifetime total value (LTV) of your average client is high enough, you can afford to invest a great deal of time and money to acquire new ones.

But even if you can afford to "buy" more clients, it takes longer to persuade and sell them than it does to the prospects, leads and clients who already know you.

All you need to "reactivate" those cold buyers is the right message.

I call the process Cold Reactivation.

Done right, it can deliver $77,000 in a few days. Or $193,000 in 24 hours (examples below).

It requires no technology, no funnels and no advertising ... which may be why you haven’t heard about it.

It can generate new sales FAST, because you're talking to people who are already in your CRM.

And those sales are HIGHLY PROFITABLE, because you've already paid to acquire their names and contact info.

How does Cold Reactivation work?

You send a few emails and letters to the cold prospects and leads you already have -- people who once were interested in buying, but have gone silent.

And you send a slightly different series of messages to inactive clients -- people who have stopped buying or communicating with you.

In your messages, you acknowledge that you haven't heard from them in a while, ask how they're doing, and make them an offer with a deadline.

Why does Cold Reactivation work?

One reason is that people want to do business with people they trust, not faceless companies.

If you can send a personal message that's timely and relevant to the person getting it ... a message from someone who's not a total stranger ... you stand out in a sea of chatbots, mass emails, and other garbage.

It's simple, ready-to-use process that works for any business, especially if you're B2B or sell a high-ticket product or service.

Want an example?

Below is page one of a Cold Reactivation letter I wrote for a B2B consulting service ...

We mailed it to their past clients, offering a free consultation to start the new year.

What were the results?

"We mailed the letter Kevin wrote. It was our first time to send a direct-mail promotion like this to existing accounts already on the books. The results were pretty incredible -- $77,098 in new revenues, with more to come by the end of the year. The return on investment for your services was off the charts!"??- Jeff Prouty, Chairman, the Prouty Project, Eden Prairie, MN

Here are more examples of Cold Reactivation from my client files:

"An inactive client purchased the following as a result of the letters you wrote: a $5,262 project, then a $1,517 project, followed by a project worth at least $19,287 -- maybe more. That's only one client; there were others."- George Platt, Harty Integrated Solutions, New Haven, CT

"Within 24 hours ... I put the principles into practice. One call netted a sale for $193,000. This stuff works!"- David Bullock, Fanuc Robotics, Murfreesboro, TN

What's your next step?

1) Choose 10-100+ cold prospects and/or inactive clients in your CRM that you want to do business with.

2) Send them an email (good) or letter in the mail (better) based on this 3-part template:

  1. Acknowledge that you haven't heard from them in a while and apologize for not keeping in touch
  2. Ask how they're doing and offer to answer any questions
  3. Make them an offer with a deadline -- preferred pricing, private sale, new product/service, free consultation, etc.
