How to stay young and healthy.
Are you young, and healthy?
Let’s face it, we all want to be young, healthy and beautiful. It’s only natural! So many of us invest a great amount of time and effort and money to achieve this ordeal, whether it works out or not. The pursuit is there. Many consider thinking that they have little control over their health.. Such a fatalistic view holds many back from improving their health and leading a more productive life.
Can we really be healthy with so many distractions, and unhealthy products or habits out there.? However we stand financially, there are some basic steps we can take to improve our own health and that of our family. Is it worth the effort?
Without needlessly shortening your life span, you can actually increase the quality of your life.
By setting a good example in word and deed, parents can achieve such great healthy habits for their children.. The extra time and expense involved will be repaid in reduced suffering, less time lost to illness, and less money spent on medical bills. As the saying goes, ‘An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.’
Let’s examine 3 simple keys to help maintain a healthy, happy lifestyle:
Key 1- Eat Wisely Eat fresh foods and plants. Focus on plants like whole, fresh food rather than modern commercially packed processed foods. Use herbs and spices when cooking. Don’t eat too much- The World Health Organization says that an increased number of overweight and obese people have been reported, often resulting of overeating.
Drink enough fluids- Drink plenty of water every day, especially when doing heavy, physical activities. Such fluids cleanse your body of poisons, help your digestive system, and promote weight loss.
Key 2- Take care of Basic Body Needs. Get enough sleep. Distractions and demands of daily life can really limit our sleep and takes a huge toll on our body. Sleep is essential to good health. Countless studies show that when we’re asleep our body’s organs like our body and brain start to repair themselves, which aids for memory and our mood.
Sleep helps reinforce the immune system and reduces the risk of infections, heart attack, stroke, cancer, obesity, depression and even Alzheimer’s disease.
Take care of your teeth. Brushing and flossing your teeth every day, especially before going to bed will help fight against tooth decay, tooth loss or any gum disease.
Key 3- Keep your brain active moving, and keep active –
“If exercise were a pill, it would be the most widely prescribed medication in the world.” (Emory University School of Medicine)
Do daily exercise. Having an active physical life and having periods of moderate exercise several times a week, can contribute enormously to making us happier, thinking clearer, having more energy, less pain, more effective and productive.
Jogging, fast walking, biking, and taking part in active sports, enough both to get your heart beating faster and to cause you to break a sweat, can improve your endurance and help to prevent heart attack and stroke.
So, is it possible to be young, healthy and beautiful? Of course, it is. But it comes at a price. We need to invest time and money in ourselves and keep doing everything we can to have a healthy, happy life.
