How to stay on Track and Survive the Holidays

We all know that the holiday season can be magical. But there are so many tempting treats especially when we eat out.


Meals out parties, family time. The weather is cooler and darker if we live in the northern hemisphere and we are less inclined to be as active.

My top 5 tips for surviving meals out and holiday eating are the following.


  1. If you are eating out make sure you check the menu before you go. Opt for a soup or salad as a starter. Check how the food is cooked and opt for grilled or baked. Ask the server to put sauces on the side to give you more control.
  2. Make sure you are well hydrated before you go out. drink a glass of water between each alcoholic beverage. Your liver and kidneys will thank you!
  3. Have a protein meal a couple of hours before you go to keep you satisfied and stop you from overeating.
  4. If you are having alcohol opt for a small glass of wine or spirts and again monitor this.
  5. If you'd like dessert then skip the starter.
