At LinkedIn, their mission is to safely connect the world’s professionals to make them more productive and successful, like you and me! At the centre of this global professional community is the LinkedIn Feed, a place for people to discover and join in the conversations that are happening with their connections, taking place within their groups, and started off by the topics, people, and businesses they’re following.
A feature that helps start these conversations is called 'Mentioned in the News' which identifies members mentioned in a news article and then notifies them, their connections and their followers about it too, isn't that cool! For now this feature is being paused while LinkedIn reevaluate its effectiveness. How many of you would like to see this feature make a return? Let me know below!
Do you often worry about harmful comments or reviews which could effect your business? What about fake profiles which can spam you? Here's what LinkedIn are doing about it!
The ability to report something as promoting terrorism or extremely violent has been added to the report list. I hope that you don’t encounter this content, but if you do, please report it immediately using one of the report buttons. You can see this by clicking on the three dots at the top right of any post, comment or message.
Next up is new updates! Updates to the Help and Safety Centers which have been made recently include online tips on how to stay safe and how to identify harassing or abusive behaviour.
Now, this might be a big one which could effect your business. New technology is helping the guys behind the scenes at LinkedIn to detect fake profiles. In the first quarter of 2019, they were able to identify thousands of fake profiles and continue to strengthen the detection and removal of these profile. Sometimes you can get fake profiles which spam comments or post spam links and this is really irritating if your post is getting great interaction. Now we can all do something about it!
