How to stay motivated during times of uncertainty

Human beings tend to lose concentration because of various unwanted distractions that arise during the day. Such unwanted distractions affect our work and withdraw our attention. Keeping ourselves motivated during the times of uncertainty could be a challenging task if we do not prioritize our work goals. It is essential to set goals before we start doing anything.

Learn some of the ways which will help you to stay motivated during uncertain times.

 Set goals

Goals give you a direction in life and help you to be determined. When you have a preset plan, it keeps you focused on achieving it. It is vital to set short term and long term goals for oneself. When you break down a bigger goal into smaller chunks, it gives you a laser-focused viewpoint of what you have to do right now and later. Achieving these smaller goals will keep you motivated throughout the journey of success. And when you complete these shorter/smaller goals, you will feel a sense of achievement to move forward.

Measure your progress

The next step is to analyze your performance and progress of the work. Positive results boost our motivation and give us a sense of accomplishment in life. We can measure the work we do in terms of quality and quantity, keeping time in mind. If we place a time-bound project in motion, we could easily measure the progress and overall performance.

Positive Circle

Human beings are social creatures, longing for love and affection. Surrounding yourself with positive people brings a positive mood in our minds, which makes us feel good. Hence, everyone should hang out with friends, meet-up with a new online/offline group and maybe chatter with your old friends. Doing so will rejuvenate you and bring more energy which in turn will aid you to finish that pending task on time.

Reward Yourself

Whenever you accomplish a goal, reward yourself. According to a study, people who get rewards for their hard work tend to show more interest and enthusiasm for work. Furthermore, a reward for small tasks brings more significant levels of satisfaction and enjoyment and keeps you persistent in the work.

 Meditation/Yoga

Building a habit of meditating every day reduces stress from work and controls anxiety. Meditation is a natural stress stabilizer that helps keep our minds calm and relaxed throughout the day’s activities. When we practice meditation, it gives us a clear picture in our mind and evokes positive thoughts and actions. Furthermore, numerous studies have found that meditation acts as a remedy for decreasing the likelihood of developing anxiety and depression. You could also enroll yourself for Yoga class and derive energy from each session. Doing so may also lead you to meet new people and share quality time

I often think of obstacles as opportunities - times to dig deep, stay in your lane but draw on the resources you know you have. If you look for the evidence of your previous times of uncertainty or hardships or even those during your upbringing you remind yourself of what you have overcome. The questions to ask during these times is "what is is right about this situation ?" that I am not seeing as opposed to "what is wrong with this situation?" This point of view allows space for more choices to come to you and with choice comes more awareness to move forward.
