How to Stay Happy While Working

At CLOUDETEER, we do our best to make work feel happy. Happy workers stay committed to their tasks and make our customers happy. We never blame others when things go wrong, and we work as a team. The CLOUDETEER crew needs to always communicate clearly with each other to avoid confusion and social stress.

One thing you can do is reward yourself for completing work tasks. Think of the freetime you’ll have when you finish a task. Remember, the hardest part of any task is starting. If you feel overwhelmed, just start working on the task, and the problems will sort out. Feeling overwhelmed is unavoidable, but letting that stress consume you will only make it worse. Dive in head first and you’ll be pleasantly surprised to find you’ve handled that overwhelming task satisfyingly and can reward yourself with a healthy snack, taking a walk, or whatever else you do to healthily relax.

The best thing we do to feel happier at work is simply helping each other out. Lending a hand will make both you and whomever you’re helping out happier and more efficient at work. Your coworking will have been helped around some problem, or given a new perspective to look at it from, that will encourage them to keep going at it. You will find that the self-satisfaction gained from helping them out will boost your mood and your own productivity. Furthermore, if we all help out, we’ll get what we give and find help easily ready for ourselves when we need it. This brings up another important point, do NOT be afraid to ask for help. Especially in difficult times, mental health and happiness is essential for everyone’s well being, not just your own. Don’t feel like you’re being a bother by asking for aid. Because of our environment, most people will be glad to help out. It can’t be said enough that work is a team effort and we’re all in it together.

The flipside of that last piece of advice - don’t neglect personal time either. Use whatever makes you happy as a reward for work done and take care of yourself first before you take care of others. This doesn’t mean avoiding helping others so you can focus on yourself. It just means not letting others take advantage of you. We want everyone to help because they want to, not because they feel obligated to. It’s okay to say ‘No’ when you need the time or can’t spare resources. Like everything in life, it’s best when balanced properly. Take care of others AND take care of yourself. People are often busy but they are rarely so busy that they have an excuse to neglect themselves or neglect others. Well-being comes first, and productivity will follow naturally.

This is the secret to being passionate about what you do. Take care of yourself, take care of your team members, and then take care of business. If you take care of your team members, they’ll take care of you, and you’ll never have to be overwhelmed by work. You get your work done, and then you can reward yourself again. In this way, you are taking care of yourself by working efficiently, and then the whole work environment benefits.
