How It Started: Our Story

My name is Debbie Humphrey, and I'm the proud owner of Home Helpers of Clear Water. Our main focus at Home Helpers is to provide non-medical in-home care, helping seniors maintain their independence wherever they call home.

Today, I wanted to share with you the reason why I became a Home Helpers owner and what drew me to care for seniors. I genuinely enjoy being around seniors and listening to the fascinating stories they have to tell. Their experiences span a different time than ours, and they have valuable insights we haven't encountered. It's essential that we take the time to stop and truly listen to what they have to say.

Before this, I spent 22 years in the banking industry, and I genuinely enjoyed my career there. I thought I would continue in that field until my retirement. However, during my time in banking, I encountered many customers who simply needed someone to talk to or some assistance in balancing their checkbooks or understanding their mail. Many of these clients had also been taken advantage of financially, emotionally, and physically.

Through my search to help these clients, I discovered services like Home Helpers that could genuinely make a difference in their lives. It was then that I made up my mind to dedicate the rest of my career to helping seniors stay independent in the comfort of their own homes.
