How to start a Web3 project now? Advice from actual founders

During our last event ‘BREAK THE BIAS’ at Lisk Center Berlin, we had a great panel discussion with female founders. By sharing their own experiences, they offered audience advice on starting a business, including pros and cons.

And no, not ‘It’s time to build!’ ones. We dived deeper.

??? Sylvia K. Durach , Co-Founder of hopa :

If you want to do something full-time, the number one rule is — have a lot of savings. Because right now, when it comes to funding, it’s not easy. Many investors lost a lot of money on crashes last year and they are not investing that much as before.
I truly believe that it’s never too early to start networking. Just try to tackle different communities. Starting and running a business — that’s all about networking, It’s my number one finding as a founder. Network as much as you can and as early as you can: when it comes to investors, when it comes to partners or other founders.
The way I usually approach networking is the following. I try to understand not what I can get of another person but how we can create a relationship which is mutually beneficial.
You can always start something next to your full time job and then just see how it goes. And if it goes very well, you can quit your job and become a full time founder.

??? Esther O , Building Sunrise Stake :

You can start very small. Participate in hackathons, build your own online profile. Start tweeting about things. When the time comes, you will have historical track records.?
You need to have a builder's attitude all the time. Find your vision and stay sitting in this mindset.
It’s always better to go and achieve small things that lead to bigger things than to wait until the market changes.

??? Katharina Zeuch , CEO and Founder of Luna Vision :

Go and start IF:
You’re ready to put yourself in the spotlight, to be the face of your project. If you want to succeed, especially in this market, you need to create trust.
You’re up to being available as founder 24/7.
You’re ready to deal with all the bureaucratic stuff. Believe me, founding a company in Germany, as an example, is far from easy.
If all these IFs are ok for you, then go, just start and just try.?
