As we kick off a new month, here are some tips to help you start with strong momentum and put the right pieces in place to have a successful month. Here are a few steps you can take to blow your sales targets out of the water:

  1. Set clear and reachable goals with your sales managers:?Make sure you and your team have specific, measurable targets for the month ahead. Do you know what motivates your managers? Everybody isn't motivated by money, some people are motivated by recognition, appreciation, awards, etc. What is THEIR why?
  2. Train your team:?Have you ever tested the skills of your sales managers? Often times the GM is unaware that the people who are supposed to help the team are actually a liability. A well-trained team will be more confident, more effective, and much more profitable. You should randomly grab one of your managers and ask them to overcome an objection, present a feature, or explain an addendum. You may be shocked by what you hear.
  3. Hire the right people:?Hiring the right salespeople is crucial to your success. Find candidates who are passionate about sales and not just having a job, who show a strong work ethic, and who are committed to providing exceptional customer service. It's almost impossible to learn these things in a twenty-minute interview. Look for ways to make better hiring decisions by evaluating candidates thoroughly.
