?? ?????? ?????? ?????? ???????? ???????? ????????? Is 75 becoming the new 25, as Central Banks seemingly make this their new basis for rate hikes these days. Monetary tightening pace is not abating, adding fuel to expectations of slowing economic growth and market volatility.
?? ????????'?? ?????????? ?????????????? ??????????: Building glass that tints itself automatically to save energy, big Tech making a breakout in the public loo market, and using "social credit scoring" to root out offenders, and the genes of immortality eventually found...
?All this brought to you in a simple pitch format.
1. Energy efficiency
Put your shades on…
What you need to know:
Smart glass is revolutionizing building's energy efficiency.
How does it work: ?
1?? When the sun shines and the temperature raises, the tint of the glass can be increased to block the sun's rays, and keep the building cool.
2?? The tint level is controlled by applying some electric current to move ions between thin layers of metal oxide and darken or brighten the glass, as if turning blinds up or down.
3?? During winter the tint is decreased to let more sun come in.
4?? The entire system is managed by predictive software that manages the dimming automatically.
Why is it important?
The U.S. Department of Energy estimate that this new technology can help reduce building's energy needs by about 20%.

Up to now customers primarily included new developments, but the recent Inflation Reduction Act in the US includes a tax credit for the retrofitting (and new installation) of such smart glass. The game is about to change!

Big Tech enters the public convenience market (aka public loos)
What's happening:
A startup is bringing back "public toilets", with a big help from new technology.
How does it work:
The idea is to provide a network of independent, portable restrooms offering clean facilities to address the general low state of the current offering.
Each unit will be powered by solar energy and use gray water from hand washing, to reduce environmental impact.
It will be equipped with a holding tank and sensors to trigger cleaning and tank refilling.
Access to these facilities will be managed through QR codes.

3. Genetic Therapies
A jellyfish might hold the keys to immortality...
What's the news?
A team of scientists has been studying the Turritopsis Dohrnii jellyfish and claimed to have found the genes responsible for its "immortality".
What are those genes?
They found this particular jellyfish has special genes associated with replication, DNA repair and telomere maintenance.
Telomere is the region at the end of chromosomes that allow chromosomes to be replicated properly during cell division, until they become so short that the cells can not replicate anymore and die.
What's so special?
Turritopsis Dohrnii has developed a specific ability to keep its telomeres intact during cell reproduction, opening the door to unlimited reproduction.
