Ready to scale your business with email marketing? Email gives YOU the ability to build relationships and create passive sales to grow your business. Sound like you? Keep reading for more.
- Identify your target audience - Understand your customer's personas inside and out that way the emails are relatable to your target audience.
- Define your "why" - Have a clear understanding of why email marketing is important for your brand and business.
- Identify what type of emails you will send - Email is all about nurturing your prospects. This is your time to build relationships and grow your credibility. Determine if you will email them educational, entertaining, or industry news.
- Determine the foundational brand stories - Emotional stories are key to driving sales. Write out your origin story, values, and mission, and make sure to include them in your emails.
These are super important reminders when writing your emails.
- Write subject lines under 50 characters that give a tease or reason to open!?
- Use personalization when possible!
- Use bulleted benefit copy for email scanners
- Have a personality in your emails and talk like you really talk
- The "P.S." is oftentimes the most line of an email. Use it to summarize or call out extra info
Now, this is where you actually build out the juicy part. Your freebie should be a high-value item that people will want to download.
- Create your freebie - Offer a checklist, video series, or guide that is high value.
- Choose your email service provider - There are so many to choose from, that it depends on your needs.
- Build your opt-in page/pop up - The most important thing here is a strong headline that explains the benefit of receiving your freebie.
- Create your welcome email/series - Your welcome email(s) are the emails that will automatically trigger after someone opts in for your freebie. It's important to have this built before people start opting in for the freebie so you can make the most of every opt in.
- Drive traffic to your opt-in page - Post your freebie in Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, Facebook Groups, at the bottom of blog posts, everywhere!
Determine how you will continue to nurture your email list once they download the freebie and get the evergreen email sequence.
- Monthly/Weekly Newsletter - This is an email that you will send out on a regular basis to provide consistent value to your list. You can give them something specific to look forward to
- Product Launch Series - These are the emails you will use to launch new products or initiatives. You should start about 1-2 months before the launch asking your audience what they want to see from new products, this gets them more invested.
- Retention/Referral Series - This series is for current customers - work smarter, not harder! It is much easier and cheaper to retain a current customer than to get a new one.
