So….today I want to share How To Start A Business That Works!
The subject is one that I usually deal with coz I work with startups and small business owners so every other day I get someone who is either trying to start a new business or has started one and new me to help them grow it.
Usually, when there’s an economic downturn with cuts in employment people run to start a business.
And also when there’s boom in the economy with plenty of money around; people also get to start businesses.
I don’t want to share about the research of 80% of businesses failing in the first 5 years of inception because…..na who that research help!
I will rather we talk about how you can be part of the 20% that their baby…sorry business that they founded or co-founded works.
Note that I will be sharing the fundamentals of starting a business coz there are a lot of things that make a business work.
This article is about starting a business, not growing it or operating it.
Just Starting….
Fundamentally, a business occurs when there’s an exchange of value between a willing buyer with a need and a willing seller with a solution.

So every business that works simply is supplying solutions in terms of products and services to buyers who are willing and able to buy.
Simple concept….that a lot of us (including my big head atimes) miss!
If you are looking at starting a business that will work; the first question to ask is not whether you have capital but….
WHAT ARE THE NEEDS OF THE INDUSTRY THAT I HAVE AN INTEREST IN AND HOW CAN I MEET THESE NEEDS?!
Staring and Building a business around what your target market needs is setting yourself up for success.
So vision, passion or funding is not what is the key to starting a business that works.
