How to stand out professionally in a noisy digital world

The year 2020 was marked as the deadline for many companies, governments, and professionals, it is the year to be ready for a series of goals and achievements that are meant to be reached and live up to a time of change and technological innovation.

I have lived in South Florida since 2013, and I have seen how a city like Miami has never stopped progressing, in infrastructure, opportunities, and business. It′s from the cities that a series of important changes were promised for 2020 as a common goal, as a train that starts and does not stop.

Likewise, those of us in the digital ecosystem, those of us who live from internet business, communications and digital marketing, were the ones who ventured, just over 10 years ago to predict a hyperconnected world, practically without borders. A world in which the soft skills needed to move very fast in social media, platforms, and apps that appear every day would be developed.

Something that we had to value and sustain was the fact of imagining a hyperconnected digital world where we all want to have and make a presence. It was not impossible to imagine that this would cause a kind of Pandora box mixed with a tower of Babel and a Persian market.

The shy call to take a selfie woke up the monster that led many to become influencers and trend markers in any area we can imagine. The show business seized the spaces in which the geeks moved comfortably without the need to make noise, or strut as objects of desire, or be pretentious for the scope of our influence or engagement.

Personal branding is now a must to be able to stand out in social media, not only at the level of influencers, the new species that now exists, a kind of socialité, all spoiled by the masses, brands, and the digital advertising industry.

Build our digital identity in such a noisy digital world where everyone wants to stand out and grab attention. We first must remember the importance of cultivating relationships and know that business will come later. Let's understand the social media era, the opportunity to take care of people, not only as potential customers but as friends, colleagues, neighbors, and fellow citizens.

Take this time to make content that proposes, contributes, and promotes changes in our professional and personal life. Let's write, make videos, talk more, and build digital assets that can be found by the right people, companies, and organizations. It is networking, where actions speak louder than words.
