?Giving your buyers a warm and cozy feeling starts in the bedroom. It's not hard to achieve, either. Laura Bohn of Five Star Stagings has some tips to stage your bedroom to look like a spa so your home sells fast!
Closets
The first thing the bedroom closets. Think Marie Kondo
Go through your clothes and get rid of the things that you haven't worn in years and really tidy up those spaces because buyers, when they walk through a home, are opening up your closets. They're looking at that storage area. Fold up your clothes nicely and keep it very organized.
Bed
As far as the bed goes, try and center it in the middle of the room, not tight up against a wall with the goal of putting two nightstands on each side with matching lamps on each side. Also, make sure they're big enough, too. Not like a little desk lamp. Because sometimes those just don't look up to scale with the actual bed and nightstands.
Get rid of personal photos on your nightstands, or any little papers or miscellaneous items. All you really need on your nightstand is a little fake plant on each one or a little stack of books with a pair of glasses.
Less is more.
You're want people to feel like crawling into your bed to read a book. A cozy feeling.
And speaking of reading, a lot of times if that bedroom is big enough, it's nice to have a little nook space with an accent chair and lamp. People can picture themselves coming home from a long day of work and sitting on that chair reading a book and digesting their day.
Bedding
As far as bedding, keep it really clean and simple. White is great. Not to say you can't do another color but white, as always, is a good rule of thumb. And then you can accessorize with colors.
Accent with colorful pillows.
Here’s a great tip when it comes to pillows: The back layer should be Euros (the big ones!). Put a plain Euro cover on it. The next layer, right in front of it, are two other square pillows, about half the size of the Euro pillows. That's where you can bring a little bit of texture, like fur And then the front pillow, an oblong pillow, can be more of a pattern.
Windows
Lift up the curtains and drapes. Let the light shine in. Lots of light! Especially if you have a great view outside your window. You want to showcase that. So always try to have those windows and those drapes open.
