How Spooky Will It Get This Holiday Season?

We hope you had a great #Halloween. Who else has too much candy in their house now (not sure why this happens to us every year)?

According to the National Retail Federation , Halloween-related activities returned to?pre-pandemic levels. With the spike in participation, total Halloween spending was likely to reach a record $10.6BN.

  • However, as the holiday season ramps up, things may not be looking up across the board. There are ominous signs that online marketing is slowing....drastically.#YouTube revenue declined for the first time since Google started reporting the video division's earnings separately.
  • #Microsoft’s search and news ad business has shrunk each quarter of the past year, coinciding with the downward trajectory of the entire online advertising market.
  • #Facebook parent #Meta?posted its second revenue decline in a row, as the social media company faces challenges across many fronts.

The scary news is sure to give heebie-jeebies to many #brands. At the least, it's a wake-up call to evolve marketing strategies to respond to what's happening in the market as we enter the critical holiday season.
