How to spend your “Staycation”?
When compassion fills my heart, free from all desires, I sit quietly like the earth. My silent cry echoes like thunder throughout the universe” – Rumi (whispers of the blood)
All of us aspire to live a better and happy life but as we are so obsessed with our day to day affairs, we overlook some basic things which could make us and people and world around us a more joyful place to spend our transitory period.
I am sitting in a bright winter sunshine and praying for all those who have left us and for all those who are relentlessly running in lives …... in quest for greater things. I also bow in gratitude for the life Allah Almighty has bestowed upon us, as every passing moment is epic.
Time waits for no one.; Look, the earth will continue to spin, the sun to set, clocks to tick…...and it happens again and again until time for us runs out and we become history hence, it is critical to take a pause to feel life, smell air, touch flowers, feel warmth of the sun, evening breeze, gaze stars and brightness of moon… share precious moments with those who make our lives special…it is imperative to take care and love all.
Here I am making an effort to pen down my thoughts on staycation which could make our lives more relaxed and enjoyable.?
A staycation is a fun way to spend time with your family without having to leave the house. It's perfect if you're looking for something low-key and relaxing, but it doesn't have to be boring! A staycation can be anything from going on a walk, reading a book, taking an afternoon nap or going out to explore some new place that you've never been to before. Meditation, while sitting on terrace or balcony watching sun going down would be an icing on the cake.
There are many benefits of staying at home during this time: you won't have any distractions like traffic jams or crowds at the beach (which means less stress), plus there's no need for extra money because there won't be any fancy restaurants or expensive attractions involved—you'll just enjoy some quality family time together!
Some ideas for staycation:
Self- discipline:
Must practice this to ensure your mind is clear and calm. Be grateful to be alive – we have to learn to observe the preciousness of every moment of our existence. As a human being we need to realize that the world is inside us and making the world beautiful means to make yourselves beautiful. Start smiling inside yourself.
Every little bit adds up
Think about the last time you donated or helped some one that could have played a role in someone’s life. It might have played a major role in some one’s life. We need to fill our part by making even small donations to charities that help those who need these most – maybe we could make a difference in this world!
Be nice to others.
Be nice and kind to others even if someone treats you badly; don’t let it get under your skin – just brush aside hard feelings and move ahead. ‘let it go’ concept is very important for your peace of mind and staying healthy.

Visit a historical place preferably Museum/beach or lake in your city
If you're visiting a museum you've never been to before, check out their latest exhibits. If it's an art museum or an architectural one, there's probably something new and exciting happening right now. Museums are great places to visit with friends because they're often small and intimate enough that everyone can have their own time in the room without having to wait for anyone else. They can be a great way to learn about history, art, and culture, and many museums offer interactive exhibits and educational programs for visitors of all ages. You'll get more out of your visit if you bring along someone who has similar interests as yourself!
Going to the beach or the lake has many benefits, both physical and mental, such as being near the beach or lake and listening to the sound of the waves can have calming effect on the mind and can help reduce stress and anxiety. Further, going to the beach with family and friends can be a great way to spend quality time together and create lasting memories.
Walk around in your neighborhood
Once you've settled in and gotten a feel for your neighborhood, there's no better way to experience it than by walking around.
·????????Get out of your comfort zone: If you're used to staying at home or going out with friends, try taking up a new hobby like walking through the park or exploring an unfamiliar part of town. You'll be surprised by how much more comfortable you feel once you've spent some time getting familiar with where everything is located—and maybe even meet some new people along the way!
·????????Learn about history: Look up historic plaques or murals near where you live (or anywhere else), then find out more about how they were made. Did someone volunteer time? Did they get paid? What materials did they use? Why did this person decide on this particular design? Make sure that when researching these questions, don't go off half-cocked; read everything carefully so that no important details get left behind!
Try a new activity you ‘ve never done before
Trying a new activity can have many advantages such as, developing new skills and interest, meeting new people and building social connections, increasing self-confidence and self-esteem, expanding one’s perspective and learning new things etc.
If you're into sports, try something new. If you're not into sports but want to try one out anyway, that's fine! Just make sure that when you do it and how often—and how much time it takes—are all things considered. If your hobbies include cooking or baking, then get creative with what dishes or treats are served at home this weekend, may also consider sending what you cooked to neighbors or friends.
Staycation doesn’t have to be stressful; should be a relaxing one
When you're on a staycation, there are many things that you can do. You might want to catch up with friends or family, go out for dinner and drinks, take a long walk through the woods or beach (or both!), or play games with your kids or grandkids—the possibilities are endless.
But if you're feeling overwhelmed by all the choices available in your area, then don't worry: we've got some ideas for how you can use this time away from work and other responsibilities to enjoy yourself without feeling like everything has been done already!
The key thing i'd recommend doing is scheduling some free time during which nothing needs to be done but leaving everything as-is so that nothing gets neglected during those hours when people normally would be working hard at their jobs like doctors.
