How to solve Twitter’s multi $bn active user growth problem?
Twitter’s lacklustre growth in active users is arguably the single biggest factor effecting its share price right now.
Last week, in a (possibly) related move, Twitter's CEO, Jack Dorsey tweeted a request to developers for ideas
At Lissted we think the key elements of solving this user growth problem are:
- improving a first time user's initial discovery experience;
- enabling users to see the best tweets from a community without having to follow its individual members; and
- providing ways to stay connected to the top shared content and conversations in a community when you're not using Twitter.
To demonstrate how this could be done we've created this video letter to Mr Dorsey.
It contrasts the current journey of discovery for our example new user, Jill, with an alternative approach that's based on the new fremium version of Lissted, combined with our @tweetsdistilled experiment accounts that identify top community tweets.
So Jack, meet Jill.
This post has been slightly amended from when originally posted to expand on the different points covered by the video.

9 年This would be a brilliant start. The next challenge would be how to convince people to take the step from being spectators into being participants. It took me 18 months to do so!

9 年Excellent stuff - we need to remove the randomising effect of hashtag's - but not pigeonhole everybody into narrow communities.

9 年Adam , this is genius. I hope you copyrighted! Seriously though you are spot on. It is exactly why Twitter is painfully getting more irrelevant. It was why Flickr is dying too. It needs curation
